Joe The Ghost Guy: But among the dark Darkest Legends is the one that seems almost impossible to explain. A horse.

Joe The Ghost Guy: but not just a horse. It's not a black horse. No. It's not a white horse. but it's A blue.

Joe The Ghost Guy: Those who claim to see it described something. unnatural. About the animal It's Colt. seemed to glow beneath the moon.

Joe The Ghost Guy: It's eyes. appeared unnaturally bright. And sometimes... There was a rider. Sometimes. There wasn't.

Joe The Ghost Guy: The strangest part of the legend. is what happens afterwards. People claim the horse. Was it simply a haunting No.

Joe The Ghost Guy: It was warning them. wanting them to turn around. warning them not to continue down the road. And according to some versions of the story,

Joe The Ghost Guy: Those who ignored the warnings We're never quite the same. again. So tonight... We're stepping into the darkness.

Joe The Ghost Guy: to explore the legend. of the Phantom. Blue. Horse.

Joe The Ghost Guy: A story. where Americans folklore. Frontier History Superstitious. and supernatural.

Joe The Ghost Guy: Clyde.

Joe The Ghost Guy: And remember... sometimes the most frightening warning. is the one you don't understand until it's too late.

Joe The Ghost Guy: Imagine America. before highways or or street lights even before cell phones. Before every road.

Joe The Ghost Guy: had a name There were stretches of wilderness. A traveler could ride for hours. about seeing another human being.

Joe The Ghost Guy: at night. Those places. Became almost. completely silent. No traffic. No electric light.

Joe The Ghost Guy: Only the wind.

Joe The Ghost Guy: And the trees. and the occasional sound Animal. moving somewhere. beyond the darkness.

Joe The Ghost Guy: A horse. is more than important. in those days. It was a companion. a source of survival.

Joe The Ghost Guy: and for many travelers. Sound of hooves. meant safety. So imagine. I didn't know. Late at night.

Joe The Ghost Guy: When you suddenly hear.

Joe The Ghost Guy: Clop. Bop. Clop. Plop. Clop. You turn around. Nothing. Continue.

Joe The Ghost Guy: And again. Crap. Claw. Clop. Clop. Sounds getting closer. You stop your horse.

Joe The Ghost Guy: The other animal stops too. Turn. And there. Beneath the moonlight. Stands a horse.

Joe The Ghost Guy: Unlike. anything you ever seen before its body. appears almost blue. Not painted blue.

Joe The Ghost Guy: not brightly colored. A strangely. Illuminated. as if the moonlight. is shining from from underneath its skin.

Joe The Ghost Guy: Your horse begins trembling. Phantom Horse takes... One step towards you. Then another. You reach for your weapon.

Joe The Ghost Guy: But the animal doesn't attack. Instead. It looks directly at you. Yeah. And then... It turns towards the road ahead.

Joe The Ghost Guy: As if it's telling you. Don't go. down that road.

Joe The Ghost Guy: or You may. Be in trouble.

Joe The Ghost Guy: Why blue? Oh. That's one of the mysteries. surrounding this legend. In folklore, Unusual colors often carry symbolic meaning.

Joe The Ghost Guy: blue can represent. be supernatural The unknown. as sorrow. Moonlight. or something existing. Between. The two worlds. Peace.

Joe The Ghost Guy: A blue animal. Would have been. especially disturbing to someone traveling through the wilderness. before modern lighting.

Joe The Ghost Guy: Moonlight reflected off a horse's coat. could produce strange effects. This could distort. these appearances as well.

Joe The Ghost Guy: Distance. to transform or ordinary colors. to something completely different. and fear itself.

Joe The Ghost Guy: And change. What a... Witness believes they are seen. before war. Does it? a choir an explanation.

Joe The Ghost Guy: That's what makes it powerful. The story survives. Because the people... Continue to tell it. and every generation.

Joe The Ghost Guy: adds another shadow. Another row.

Joe The Ghost Guy: Possibly another witness. Or... other Warning.

Joe The Ghost Guy: Some versions of the legend. describes the Phantom Blue Horse. as riderless It's important.

Joe The Ghost Guy: Because riderless horse. has always carried a strange symbolism.

Joe The Ghost Guy: in American history.

Joe The Ghost Guy: A horse. without his rider. can represent someone. who never came home A soldier. For.

Joe The Ghost Guy: far away from home. has been killed. A cowboy. lost on the trail A traveler. who had disappeared.

Joe The Ghost Guy: A horse that... survived its master. An enduring ghost story. A riderless horse. can become something else.

Joe The Ghost Guy: Totally, entirely. A messenger? Also a warning? A memory that refuses to disappear.

Joe The Ghost Guy: The Phantom Blue Horse. is sometimes said to appear. shortly. before tragedy A traveler sees it.

Joe The Ghost Guy: The horse watches. Then... it disappears. Hours later... Something terrible happened.

Joe The Ghost Guy: A wagon overturns. Storm. Straight as a tree.

Joe The Ghost Guy: A storm. Destroys the trail a traveler. becomes lost. A bridge. collapses. or Someone disappears into the wilderness.

Joe The Ghost Guy: and never to be found Was the horse responsible? There's no reliable evidence proving that But that's not how legends work.

Joe The Ghost Guy: The question isn't always. Did it happen? Sometimes the question is. Why did people believe it happened?

Joe The Ghost Guy: Then there are some stories involving. Rider comes in some retellings A blue horse carries a mysterious figure.

Joe The Ghost Guy: A man. Wearing an old fashioned clothing. Sometimes a cowboy. sometimes. a soldier. sometimes a figure.

Joe The Ghost Guy: whose face cannot be seen. The rider. doesn't speak. He doesn't chase. the witness He simply appears.

Joe The Ghost Guy: Watch this. then disappears. some witnesses. Supposedly described. hearing a whisper.

Joe The Ghost Guy: No words. Just his breath. A sound carried by the wind.

Joe The Ghost Guy: The Traveler continues. and the phantom. vanishes.

Joe The Ghost Guy: to understand why stories like this become so powerful. We have to understand the American frontier. The frontier wasn't simply a beautiful wilderness.

Joe The Ghost Guy: It could be brutally dangerous. Some People died. from accidents. Disease. Violence.

Joe The Ghost Guy: Exposures. Animal Attack Flash floods.

Joe The Ghost Guy: Fires. or just simply became lost. and never returned. a person could disappear. into the wilderness.

Joe The Ghost Guy: and never have been found. or families left behind. There was often No explanation. No graves.

Joe The Ghost Guy: No final goodbyes. Only question. And sometimes... A ghost story filled with empty space.

Joe The Ghost Guy: or the answer. should have been. Perhaps. Imagine seeing a rider. Perhaps a traveler. Heard hooves.

Joe The Ghost Guy: Perhaps an ordinary horse. wandered across the moonlit trail and slowly. The story.

Joe The Ghost Guy: became something darker. The horse was an ordinary. It was a ghost. And yet... is...

Joe The Ghost Guy: and isn't wandering. It was searching.

Joe The Ghost Guy: There is where the legend becomes truly frightening. The Phantom Blue Horse. Is it necessarily?

Joe The Ghost Guy: Betrayed. as evil. Instead... It may be trying to save people. Let's imagine that. Shall we?

Joe The Ghost Guy: A terrifying creature. In the darkness. My... Actually... The thing that's trying to protect you. A traveler sees a horse blocking the road.

Joe The Ghost Guy: The animal refuses to move. The traveler tries to go around. The horse moves with him. Again. And again.

Joe The Ghost Guy: And finally... Trevor gives up. and turns back. The next morning, he discovers... at the section. of the road ahead had been destroyed.

Joe The Ghost Guy: There was a flash flood. or Rock slide. Possibly a fallen tree. He had survived.

Joe The Ghost Guy: But he didn't know why. Yet. He remembers. the horse The blue. Horse. standing in the darkness.

Joe The Ghost Guy: Waiting.

Joe The Ghost Guy: Every warning. Not. But not every warning legend. needs someone to ignore the warning. End of the darkness version. Darkest version.

Joe The Ghost Guy: There are always someone to continue.

Joe The Ghost Guy: A traveler sees the horse. He laughs. He believes it's someone's escaped animal. He rides forward. The horse disappears.

Joe The Ghost Guy: The road becomes darker. The wind stops. And suddenly... as you know. his own Horse refuses to continue.

Joe The Ghost Guy: The traveler kicks the animal. Nothing. betrays again Still nothing. Then he hears something behind him.

Joe The Ghost Guy: Crap. Cluck. Crap. Crap. He turned slowly. He slowly turns the blue horses stand directly behind him Close enough to touch.

Joe The Ghost Guy: His eyes are fixed upon his. And then the horse opens his mouth. But instead of a neigh. The traveler hears.

Joe The Ghost Guy: A human's voice.

Joe The Ghost Guy: The traveler turned.

Joe The Ghost Guy: Then he turns his horse around. and rides. He never. Looks back.

Joe The Ghost Guy: Perhaps the strongest And strangest part. of the Phantom Blue Horse legend. is that it doesn't belong to just one period of American history.

Joe The Ghost Guy: Stories of Ghostly Horses appeared throughout folklore. Native American tradition. Frontier Legends. Cowboy Ghost Stories.

Joe The Ghost Guy: Civil War Stories Mining Camp Tales in modern paranormal accounts. All contained versions evolve in mysterious animals.

Joe The Ghost Guy: The deep. The details are strained. Strange. and they do change

Joe The Ghost Guy: The meanings change. basic images remain. A horse. appearing Where it should be.

Joe The Ghost Guy: a horse Behaving As though he knows something. that humans don't. A horse appearing.

Joe The Ghost Guy: of poor danger. Horse It disappears. Wow. explanation. And perhaps... Errors. carrying the memory of someone.

Joe The Ghost Guy: Who never? Return.

Joe The Ghost Guy: There's... Another way to look at the Phantom Blue Horse. Maybe there's... It was never a ghost. Maybe the witness.

Joe The Ghost Guy: Encountered. Ordinary horse. beneath the unusual lighting. Maybe fog. transport. transformed.

Joe The Ghost Guy: an animal's appearance. Maybe. Exhaustion. caused travelers to misinterpreted the shadows.

Joe The Ghost Guy: Maybe loneliness. Amplified. every sound And maybe... human mind. The end.

Joe The Ghost Guy: What has always been. Done. A creative story to explain something. Very frightening. That doesn't make the legend meaningless.

Joe The Ghost Guy: No. Quite the opposite. It tells us something about the... people. who lived. these stories. They lived.

Joe The Ghost Guy: and the places. or danger. could arrive without warning. So perhaps... They need it. a guardian A supernatural figure.

Joe The Ghost Guy: that appeared When... would come. too dangerous. a creature. It could. C. What a human.

Joe The Ghost Guy: Can't.

Joe The Ghost Guy: A messenger. from the darkness.

Joe The Ghost Guy: Now imagine. You're all alone. You're driving down the empty road. It's after midnight.

Joe The Ghost Guy: There's no houses nearby.

Joe The Ghost Guy: No streetlights. No other vehicles. Then you hear it

Joe The Ghost Guy: You look into rear -view mirror. Nothing. Cluck. Cluck.

Joe The Ghost Guy: to slow down. Still nothing. Then... Cluck. Cluck. Cluck.

Joe The Ghost Guy: Cluck. Cluck. Crap. Cut. you see something standing beside the road. A horse. But something is wrong You can't quite determine.

Joe The Ghost Guy: It's color. It's too dark. Stop. The horse looks at you. You roll down the window. The animal doesn't move.

Joe The Ghost Guy: You turn on your headlights. And suddenly. It's gone. No running foot. steps. No movement.

Joe The Ghost Guy: Nothing. Just an empty road. You drive away. Bye. A few seconds later. he noticed something.

Joe The Ghost Guy: Your radio. has stopped working. Your phone has no signal. And in the distance. You hear?

Joe The Ghost Guy: Hope you.

Joe The Ghost Guy: They're following you

Joe The Ghost Guy: Maybe the blue. Phantom horse There's nothing more than a legend. Maybe it's an old frontier story.

Joe The Ghost Guy: That changed with every person who told it. Maybe the witnesses. saw ordinary horses. Maybe moonlight created this strange blue glow.

Joe The Ghost Guy: Maybe fear filled. Filled in the rest Or just maybe. Somewhere in the forgotten. corners of America. There were really...

Joe The Ghost Guy: is a horse that appears when someone is about to make it. Be careful. An unforgivable mistake. A horse.

Joe The Ghost Guy: That does an attack. That horse that doesn't chase. A horse that simply waits. and watches. and warns.

Joe The Ghost Guy: Because perhaps the darkness... darkest place.

Joe The Ghost Guy: Aren't. always haunted by things. that want to hurt us. Sometimes. They may be haunted.

Joe The Ghost Guy: by things. That's trying to tell us something.

Joe The Ghost Guy: So... If you're ever traveling. Alone at night. And hear hoofbeats Behind you.

Joe The Ghost Guy: Don't immediately assume You're imagining them. And if you look back into the darkness. And you see a strange...
