00:05:41
Speaker
You guys came in hot. i love it. yeah love Love the energy. I bring the noise, and he brings the funk. You're like the Bash Brothers. I keep hitting on the table, and it moves our camera. Yeah, don't do that. I can't do that anymore. Are you nervous? It's probably bad for sound, too. That's a nervous thing. It's like people that beat the shit out of a lectern when they're trying to talk in of people. You're finding...
00:06:01
Speaker
the card truth that when you invite Cavender and me onto a podcast, it no longer becomes your podcast. It becomes whatever machinations are in our brain. We Bogart. like, yeah. So your job is a crack for Bandai. We're just going to talk about nonsense. I would have it no other way.
00:06:18
Speaker
but No other way. I feel like the Chris Gethard to your, uh, Paul Scheer and Jason Manzoukas right now. have He's got what kind of jerk you gotta be menzki i was gonna say just dustin has vans duus energy one hundred just and always has them at zus energy but faraling and what's up jerk sub jerks.
00:06:37
Speaker
Yeah. What is that? That's a, yeah. How did this get made? Right. Yep. and Yeah. Last time I was in l LA, i got to see a live version of it. It was awesome. and I had a pocketbook and I ate it earlier. Why aren't you guys going to see it? movie it? Why don't you make it out to the West Coast ever?
00:06:52
Speaker
It's the better coast, you know? ah We would love to. um This year, I would say we came closer than ever to actually pulling the trigger and doing it. So i'm every year we get a little bit closer, I think next year is going to be the year.
00:07:07
Speaker
I'm going out there. I'm saying it now. I think next year is going to be the year that it happens. We can have like a little slumber party and make a tent for four. Yeah, we'll get rooms with two beds so we can put the sheet across. And maybe joining rooms with the door and we can just have it open and we can go back and forth. focused So much room for activities. We can read my room's mini bar. I didn't need anything in my room.
00:07:29
Speaker
Home Alone 2. I like this. I like this. I have my talk boy. I can i can move kids to i can request we can record things and slow it down and make it sound like our dads. It'll be great.
00:07:44
Speaker
Credit card. You got it. Perfect. I love you.
00:07:54
Speaker
ah You're very young. Yeah.
Comic-Con Exclusive Figures
00:07:56
Speaker
yeah you guys ah You guys have a lot of really fun things planned for for San Diego Comic-Con. um Things that, to your point, we will not get to see with our own eyes, but we want to help get the word out there so that way people don't miss the many, many, many things that you guys have going on.
00:08:17
Speaker
um I guess the the the place to start would be that the first thing that you guys really kind of announced, which was ah your exclusives this year.
00:08:28
Speaker
So yeah why don't you talk to us about ah your your four exclusive figures? Sure. So the pre-order window for pickup closed on July 10th. So thank you for having us on your show on on the 16th, which airs on Monday, whatever day that is. Maybe in the 20s by then? Yep, something like that.
00:08:53
Speaker
We got that going for us. And then they are available for walk-ups. We'll have small allocations available for people to go to booth 3329, which is the Tamashii Nations booth, to pick up your event exclusives.
00:09:08
Speaker
Yeah. and so I'm a Dragon Ball guy, so I'm excited. We always bring Dragon Ball exclusives the Tamashii Nations booth. So you're showing Gogeta right now. It's going to be $80. It comes with a bunch of cool accessories. We have Gotenks, which is going to be $70. Comes with not only a physical, like three-dimensional ghost. Comes with a great little background with multiple ghosts. And then, of course, Goku Daima is going to be $50. I do love the little mini Gokus. I have a mini Goku and a mini Vegeta.
00:09:34
Speaker
True. You like mini figs, but you like full-size candy bars. Yeah. But they articulation. Mm-hmm. Yeah, I have the Daima Vegeta and I'm shocked how much how much how much ah articulation you guys worked into that thing. as there They're great figures. They really Sorry, had to sneak that in there because I know i knew you liked it. I knew it.
00:09:55
Speaker
It's one of those things where I have a checklist of things that like I can't say to you because I know what your answer is going to be. And every now and then i speak before I think and then I walk right into one of those little traps you set.
00:10:09
Speaker
That's okay. I sit next to him every day. buts Except we stand. We have a standing desks. That's good. it's good because It's good for the circulation.
San Diego Nightlife and Vegetarian Challenges
00:10:19
Speaker
It's really important. again Yeah. as Sitting in his walls every day.
00:10:25
Speaker
And then your your last one here is Naruto, correct?
Naruto Uzumaki Exclusive Figure Introduction
00:10:29
Speaker
Yeah, say all that, Eric. SHFigure, it's Naruto Uzumaki. Naruto Uzumaki, Kurama Link Mode, courageous strength that binds exclusive edition.
00:10:39
Speaker
Yeah, that's pretty good. i did I did all right. You did. Let's say nine more times in 30 seconds. It's going to be fun game. How many times can you say it before your head just explodes?
00:10:51
Speaker
Or someone runs in the room thinking you had a stroke. Technically the whole thing would be SH Figure Arts, Naruto Uzumaki, Kurama Link Mode, Courageous Strength that Binds, exclusive edition from Bandai Namco, Toys of Collectibles America.
00:11:03
Speaker
One, nine more. There's an ink in there too, but we never watch it because that's just that's just too much. yeah That's too ostentatious. We should say ink period. Add the period.
00:11:15
Speaker
We should just speak with punctuation in the sentence. So this year you guys did something though a little bit different with this, ah with with the pre-order window um as opposed to like the, in the past, right? You guys have had that like walk-up station where you have to go and get like vouchers and stuff.
00:11:32
Speaker
um how How did it go this year with ah with the new with the new pre-order system? It was easy. Hands down. Fairly an inconvenience. Show little QR code and then it gets scanned and then you got your stuff.
00:11:46
Speaker
I take that back. You need a badge and you need an ID. Government ID. You can't just write your name on a piece of paper. and Like a gym ID is no good.
00:11:56
Speaker
Yeah, that's so good no good. And then you get your face. Yeah. I mean, it's the first year we did it, so you know I think a lot of people will be getting used to it. and I think once they see just how amazingly easy it is, if we're able to bring it back in future years, I think they'll use it then. But yeah, it's just...
00:12:11
Speaker
No one likes to wait in lines. This you don't have to go to the line at Comic-Con, get your figures, easy peasy. Go about your day. You get to pick the day and the time you want to pick it up at. So you want to pick it up nice Thursday at 5 p.m. because you got nothing else going that time? That's when you pick it up. Yeah, it's all about strategy at San Diego because there's panels and other activations and everything takes forever and the the crowds are there. so you really want to budget your time and energy accordingly.
00:12:36
Speaker
Yeah, because I think that's one the things that San Diego apart from like a New York is that the program in San Diego is... Off the charts. Yeah, I mean, New York has, you know, they have great programming, but San Diego just has like 15 times the amount of programming.
00:12:49
Speaker
And so you could always be in a panel if you wanted to. Or just be outside the whole time doing all the outdoor activations. Yeah, the whole city decorates for Comic-Con San Diego turns into Comic-Con and that's what's great about San Diego Comic-Con. And all that stuff's free and you don't need badge. Gratis. Yeah.
00:13:06
Speaker
Yeah, that's and that's one of the things that i've that ah that I have heard, you know having having never been out there, right? So like our only experience is with New York Comic Con, and there are some satellite activations and things like right outside the Javits Center, but New York City very much so is New York City, and Comic Con is happening in it. There was one year there were some panels at Hammerstein, I think.
00:13:28
Speaker
Yeah, but with San Diego, right, the entire city becomes basically like Comic-Con. gas lamp does for the most part. Yeah, the gas lamp and Petco Park where the Padres play. know, their whole parking lot turns into just free stuff. remember one year Blizzard was giving up free, like, ice cream pops. And, you know, it's just so much fun to see how the whole city embraces it. All the locals literally move out for a week, and they all rent their houses and probably make their yearly mortgages in a week. And then, yeah, the restaurants, the workers are dressed up. Their menus turn into, like, geeky-themed restaurants.
00:13:58
Speaker
you New York is amazing. I love New York Comic Con as well. I don't want it to seem like we're poo-pooing on New York. But the second you leave the Javits Center, you're just in Manhattan. It's where the second leave San Diego Convention Center, you're still in Comic Con until you leave Sunday or Monday.
00:14:13
Speaker
It is a fantastical world. yeah all the buildings Yeah, all the buildings are wrapped. All the pedicabs are themed. The trolleys are wrapped. Trolleyes? Ooh, we got a Godzilla trolley actually going on. Super excited about it. How are the pancakes?
00:14:27
Speaker
I never had no pancake in no San Diego. Or New York. So there's no... yeah like that we have I have pancakes. For dinner though. Yeah. So so the the the the Brinner the the the brenner tradition does not carry over to San Diego. That is a New York exclusive.
00:14:47
Speaker
Yeah. We have a real hard time. yeah got say San Diego, what happens at like 8 o'clock, every restaurant in the gas lamp district turns into like a club. Something else. And so they no longer serve the food that Justin can consume.
00:15:01
Speaker
And so like there was one Comic Con, Justin and I literally walked around all of San Diego looking at, I have like 80 pictures of Justin standing at like the like the hostess table or desk looking at a menu.
00:15:13
Speaker
It's just like, nope, get in here. San Diego hadn't adopted a vegetarian menu. Where did we eat that night, Justin? We ate at a... Garardelli's ice cream plates. I had a hot black sundae for Ice cream for dinner. guy It got way worse because I was like, going to ice cream for dinner, I'm going have the best sundae. So I got the waffle cone with the chocolate crust with the nuts on it. And they gave me a plastic fork that wasn't strong enough to break the waffle cone. So I had to break the cone with my hands. Now my hands are getting all dirty and brown. looks like I didn't know how to wipe properly.
00:15:44
Speaker
And I'm just eating this gross thing. So. It wasn't even that long ago. It was like three years ago. There's a banger like Ghirardelli sundae that's got like cookie chocolate chip cookie pieces in it and whatnot. It's off the charts good. That's my go-to ice cream for dinner.
00:16:04
Speaker
like Yeah, we're we're pretty spoiled in California with our Ghirardelli chocolates. in but only Last time I was in San Francisco, I got like um i got a like a Mexican chocolate one. It was like a spicy chocolate shake. It was really, really good.
00:16:19
Speaker
like really really Yeah, the closest we get out here is Disney Springs. so Yeah. Yeah, if we get to Chingon Tacos early enough, then Justin gets his potato tacos, and they're a great place. But they're they're a very popular establishment at 8 o'clock that turn into the discotheque.
00:16:37
Speaker
So like I alluded to. Sorry. It's funny. I can see both them waiting for like you to stop talking. as soon as you stop talking, start talking. And this is I'm not talking. You start talking.
00:16:48
Speaker
This is our show, right? This is why you been you never had Cavender and David at the same time. This is a first. This is a first. And maybe there is a reason why it's been the why why it's taken this long. But.
00:17:00
Speaker
no sorry um No, Eric's got to keep the one keeping things on track because I'll just keep like going. Yeah. So i alluded to it at the top, you know, you guys always have more than kind of like one home within these these comic cons. And that's nothing. That's nothing.
Tamashii Nations Booth Highlights
00:17:18
Speaker
We're well off. We need the sticks with a little stack on them to go from booth to booth. We got we got options, maybe options. Yeah, like a bindle.
00:17:26
Speaker
Let's let's talk about let's talk about your Comic-Con bindle and your your options here. So um you guys have several booths. Yeah. i So let let's let's talk about them.
00:17:38
Speaker
for three minutes. yeah Sure, so Tamachi Nation's booth, that is 3329. three three two nine That is where those event exclusives are going to be available, as well as all sorts of other goodies, including stuff that is normally only available at the Tamachi Nation store in New York. So people that can't make it all the way out to the Big Apple, they'll be able to get their hands on those store exclusives at San Diego as well, which is great. There's also a handful of brand new items that are going to be available.
00:18:06
Speaker
And on top of that, the Tomashi Nations brand has just been going really hard with announcements lately. They're going to have a lot more next week. Actually, when this airs, it's going to be about a day away from all sorts of fun reveals. And they're going to have a lot of really cool stuff on display that you'll be seeing for the very first time. So that's great. And then Tomashi Nations even has a panel on Saturday with some first time reveals, world first reveals. That'll be great. And we'll be there. was going to bearing the lead, we'll be at the Nation's booth in our little media suite slash fishbowl. Yeah, so stop and buy and say Just put your hand on the glass like you're visiting inmates and it'll be great. We'll be there for you. Some Star Trek II action. We'll see you this side. have and will always be your friend. Yeah, it'll be great. Don't press ham. Don't press any ham.
00:18:55
Speaker
Hands, not ham. Depends. Yeah, especially at the end of the day. I get a little... ah little wired and loopy. And our day starts at like 5 in the morning on Thursday. So we're in crazy town banana pants by the time the convention is ready to close. Yeah, it's going to be up to all our news hits. lot the news people are there for like their 6 a.m. news things. And so we're the ones they talk to.
00:19:19
Speaker
If you're playing at home, by the way, that's your first drink. Justin said one of his catchphrases. So that's your first drink. That's just the second one. Take a shot. Take a shot. I heard three minutes. Oh, yeah. That's borrowed. That's bone saws. Bone saws.
00:19:35
Speaker
Anytime we record, we always start it off with, got you three minutes. That's sort of like the train.
00:19:46
Speaker
So what's the next booth here? We got Tamagotchi and Godzilla. Yeah, so Tamagotchi's celebrating their 30th anniversary this year. I believe you guys got to party with them just last week at the Sweet Sweet, right? We sure did. Sweet Sweet, yeah. Yeah. So they got some event exclusives going on there as well.
00:20:04
Speaker
I think they... finally revealed them online, but um there's a lot going on there. So just know that we have multiple exclusives. We did show them on our live stream, so that's fine. There is the storybook version that has the Celebrating the 30 Years of Tamagotchi. I believe you saw it at Toy Fair when you were there in February. ai And then... Kudos on the pronunciation. Right, right. Then we have a Sanrio. That one's going to be $35 and there's a Sanrio. What was it? Like the Pamporin one? Yeah, the Pamporin. Yeah, so that they've all been announced on their social site. also $35. And then there's two different blind bag items.
00:20:44
Speaker
One is $7 and one is $6. And they're great. And the $7 one actually doubles as a device case. So there's a little figure inside. You take that that guy out and then put in your little device.
00:20:56
Speaker
And then there's the Tamagotchi Collectibles Paradise, which has the mascots and little spaceships with stickers. You can go woo, woo, woo, all over the place, and they'll look great. And if you don't go woo, woo, woo, did you really have it?
00:21:08
Speaker
I don't think so. yeah have sound Everyone has sound effects when they play with their toys, right? Yeah, absolutely. Mine is leading the tub, and they're like, I'm driving.
00:21:19
Speaker
And I push them down harder. Or drive them into a lake or something. I'm going to drive shipwreck. The thing that I'm most excited about for you guys at the at the booth, though, is the pins.
Godzilla Pins Discussion
00:21:32
Speaker
So these Godzilla pins that you guys announced, they look fantastic. I'll bring them up here so that way everyone can see them. um So tell us how they're going to be able to get these pins. Sure. So you got six there. Yeah, you got six. There's a total of eight. But the the first four that you have there, going from left to right, you have, like, the blue, the green, the orange, and the yellow. Those are...
00:21:55
Speaker
what we're calling common pins or or normal pins. um They're all going to be blind bagged. Those are just going handed out at the booth. yeah There's a escape from Godzilla photo op. When you take your picture there, you'll be given a four by six picture. Like it'll little print one out for you. And there'll also be one either text to you or email to you. But you also get a a commemorative keepsake of the of the escape.
00:22:20
Speaker
And then you'll get a blind bag pin. Come back as often as you want to get more. We'll also have Newsies sort of roaming the event hall like at New York Comic Con. They're handing out a commemorative newspaper as well. And they'll also have pins to get you. And then that sort of gold one and that white pearl. ah Yeah, but that picture is silver, but the actual pin, I believe, is white.
00:22:45
Speaker
Either way, image styles may vary from the real thing. And those are rare ones, and those ones will also be blind, and you can get your hands on those just randomly throughout doing your con experience. They'll be dispersed with with the normal pins. Yes.
00:22:59
Speaker
So you might get a lucky chase. Yes. And then the two that are question marks. Super rare. Those are super. Those are epic. Epic. Epic. And those will be handed out in different ways. One of them will be available by winning different Godzilla games. We're going to be hosting a roar contest.
00:23:17
Speaker
Give us your best Godzilla roar. And then we'll have some fun Godzilla trivia, some name that kaiju type of stuff. And it's going to be great. So you participate in that and you win. You get one of the epic pins.
00:23:31
Speaker
And then the last one there is a staff pin and that one is going to be extremely limited and that can be available to you via trade. Maybe you find a Godzilla employee and you can convince them to trade your pin for theirs.
00:23:49
Speaker
Or if you say Eric and Dave from Adventures in Collecting Podcast sent me and one of us has one, maybe we'll give them. Yeah, but probably us though. Just that everyone else would be like, I don't know what you're talking about. Yeah, we're raised no that's That's awesome. I love that, ah you know, the New York Comic Con experience that you guys had for Godzilla, that whole Coney Island um subway coney island booth situation.
00:24:14
Speaker
That really happened. So cool. Yeah, I read the paper. I read the paper. There's a video proof of us reading the paper. yeah it's like a very it's like a sitcom intro of me reading the paper it's a slow video um but yeah i love that you guys are bringing elements that back to the the folks in san diego because it was it was such a cool experience yeah i was actually gonna ask that too yeah and diana who sits with us part our team she designed the booth and she did an amazing job so
00:24:49
Speaker
I will share your sentiment with her. And she also did this year's San Diego Comic Con People are going to freak out when they see it. And these pins representing the Gods of Burst figures, we got hands-on with those at Sweet Sweet. At Sweet Sweet. they're gorgeous. I'm very excited about this. Absolutely love this line, love the Godzilla Japan figures that were recently announced as well.
00:25:16
Speaker
um All these colorways are fantastic because i you know like I've got two little ones that have kind of inherited a love of Godzilla through through me. um but One of whom I think could win the Roar contest.
00:25:29
Speaker
Oh, nice. Yeah, yeah. um But, like, they love the colorways because they pop, right? Like, they're they're really bright, and and they're they're really, like, funky, and especially with the gods of Burst, like, being able to switch the parts and kind of, like, make your own kaiju. It's a really cool concept. Yeah.
00:25:44
Speaker
But like as an adult collector, these to me are so reminiscent of the classic like Sofubi, you know, kind of Godzilla Kaiju aesthetic to see that come to life in a new form factor. And, you know in these gorgeous colorways, it's just, it's, it's fantastic. I love kind of the the evolution and the, you the way that you guys are kind of bringing, um you know, Godzilla forward in kind of a new way.
00:26:10
Speaker
awesome Yeah. Thank you very much. And there's, uh, Fun shorts on our YouTube channel now, youtube.com slash BNTCA. And they're a blast. And they've been getting uploaded for the last week or two. And they're lot of fun. So check those out as well. They're as fun and as helpful as the toys. Yes. And the figures themselves are only $10.
00:26:31
Speaker
$9.99. Yep. Are they going to be available at the booth? Are we taking turns talking over, Dave? thats and yeah Yes. Godseepers will be available at the booth.
00:26:44
Speaker
the yeah the shorts were running at Sweet Sweet, and they were pretty great.
00:26:51
Speaker
Sorry. No, it's all right. They're available at Target and GameStop, and we'll actually be having an amazing Godzilla meet-and-greet activation at GameStop in Mission Valley in San Diego before preview night begins. You can meet Godzilla. Yes. Meet the man, the myth, the legend. So anyone that's going down to San Diego, you can just actually hop on the green line. You can take the trolley from the convention center to mission Valley and meet Godzilla there as well. Awesome. If you're on the Godzilla trolley, that'd be even better.
00:27:22
Speaker
And cause yeah, we have all sorts of fun Godzilla trolley action happening. Super excited about that. That's been something that we've been trying to do for like three years now. And I'm very glad and excited that it's happening. And, um,
00:27:33
Speaker
I'm super pumped for this. So Dave and I will also be at the GameStop there. It's from 11 to 3. And it's to be, we'll actually get a special button if you go, get your pitch taken with Godzilla. And you can buy Godziburz and Godzilla Scramble items as well.
00:27:51
Speaker
True. And they have a first-to-market Burning Godzilla glow-in-the-dark figure as well. There's a lot of adjectives there. Yes. That's how we do things. Cool. Yeah, the scramble is pretty excellent, too.
00:28:04
Speaker
I like how they say the Justin edition. I want the Justin edition figure. Yeah, it's funny. When you sent me that picture, Eric, I was like, I'm actually wearing a shirt just like that. I'm just going to throw it on the screen. I have to get Dave was the one that called that out. He was like, oh my god, they made a Justin one. I was like, yes. That's actually the Chase figure, too, for that weight.
00:28:27
Speaker
Keep it on the low lower, they'll take it out. That's true. We're the same body shape. Yeah. I look just like that from the side. anyway And then you guys have you guys have another booth.
00:28:40
Speaker
We didn't talk at all about the Gundam booth. Yeah. We got last but certainly not least is we have the Gundam booth, which is booth 3829. We've tested and grilled each other on the booth numbers thoroughly.
Gundam Booth Details
00:28:52
Speaker
Same aisle as Tamashi Nations, just like five booths down. Yeah, yeah. You can see it from the Tamashi Nations booth. It's going to have a lot of cool stuff. you know There's going to be a panel on that first day of San Diego Comic-Con. It's going to be at 1030.
00:29:04
Speaker
10-30 to 11-30 is going to be some really fun giveaways. you want to segue to the giveaway? Yeah! Hold, please. don't know if the bag is in. So if you attend San Diego Comic Con, you go to our panel, and from 10-30 to eleven thirty I think it's 2,000 people will get this amazing shopper bag that celebrates some of the milestones of Gundam.
00:29:27
Speaker
We get a post on our poster. Yeah, pretty wrinkled for you. is that a Hathaway poster? It is a Hathaway poster. You're going to get a really cool t-shirt. it's gonna On the front on one side, it says Gundam San Diego Comic-Con 2026.
00:29:41
Speaker
And then on the back, it's got Gundam Wing Zero. Super duper cool. Then there is a fun little program inside. or and the model kit first, whatever's on top.
00:29:53
Speaker
Fun little program. Just gives you some really good backstory and history of Gundam franchise. You're going to get an inflatable beam saber.
00:30:03
Speaker
And straw to blow up said beam saver. And then you're going to get a promo card for the Gundam TCG game, which everyone loves. And then, of course, it wouldn't be a Gundam giveaway if we didn't give you a model kit. And so there you have it you're going to get your very own RX-78 Gundam kit to build at home.
00:30:22
Speaker
Mm-hmm. And I think this might be one of the first times we're actually giving this particular one out. Comes in the poly bag. It is, I dare say more kit inclusive because doesn't have a wrinkle. I'm to it away because it makes a lot of noise. I'm sorry about that. But yeah, the GunnaBoost going to have a lot of fun stuff. It's going to maybe have some fun reveals for stuff after the panel. And yeah, I think the more we say about that, the more likely it is we'll get shot in the head. And now a word from our sponsors.
00:30:54

00:31:29
Speaker
And tell them Adventures in Collecting sent you.
00:31:36
Speaker
And now, back to the show. Since New York Comic Con, every time Gundam comes up, Dave tells the same Gundam story, and I'm going to have him tell it here. his yeah The most impressive thing he's ever seen. that thing do I'm not a bottle kit person, but I i can follow instructions. But i at the at New York Comic Con, there was that Gundam meetup after the show closed, and I watched with awe and the utmost respect as I saw somebody
00:32:09
Speaker
take the manual, tear it into about four pieces, and just, while in mid-conversation, put together one of the models like perfectly, no flaws, no issue whatsoever. And I even was like, that was the coolest thing I've ever seen. like Yeah, sometimes it was box lit upside down. They'll clip all the pieces off.
00:32:31
Speaker
like and it's It's terrifying. It was so impressive. I was like, i quit, like, the fastest I've ever seen somebody put one together and with no instruction. Like, just kidding. The kit...
00:32:45
Speaker
So the real studs, so the real studs, they put it together inside the bag. They never opened the bag and they popped the pieces out and they assemble it without opening the bag.
00:32:57
Speaker
We saw ah one of our IT guys, Harrison, we said, well, witnessed him do it and he brought it he gave it to me and I'm like, what what are you giving me? I have plenty of these. and he's like, no, look, and it was fully assembled inside. and We were visiting the Venture brothers while he was putting the model kit together. yeah That's insane. Thanks, thanks. That's like the Gundam equivalent of like a ship in a bottle.
00:33:19
Speaker
Yeah. I can't do it That is. i've been bitten a bottle on my best day. I've got a wrong start. like You reased me up a little bit, and then you held bottle really strong. Yeah, I could do that. If you gave me that in some time, I might be able to like put it together, but not in a bag and certainly not without the the instructions. Not with that attitude, Dave.
00:33:40
Speaker
but I picked up this guy out one of the at one of the, I think this was actually at Anime NYC the one year when you guys had the Gundam base there. This was like one of the explosives there. i I would be embarrassed to tell you how long it took me to build this just because like I'm not, first of all, like I'm meticulous.
00:34:00
Speaker
And I just don't build them that often. And like, I want to like the building part of it is the enjoyment part of it, like not rushing through it. But I couldn't imagine have, you know, doing this fast.
00:34:11
Speaker
Like, and this was like small race. You can take all the time you want. Enjoy yourself. Yeah. so I go and i talk about a lot of schools. And so these are the kids we take to the schools and, you know, second graders. who put good Dave, so you're you're in good company. You can do it. And I think the whole thing with like Justin said that it's not a race. It's it's like everything else, like a puzzle, like Legos, like model kits is we all rush through it to get to the end product and we don't enjoy the process. And so I think that the hobby team is going out of their way to make the process of building it enjoyable so that it's not just about the destination. It's about the journey yeah and the friends who meet along the way.
00:34:44
Speaker
And as like an action figure nerd too, the the thing that always amazes me about these is kind of learning how like... Well, also just like how articulation systems are like reverse engineered almost. Because like you see it putting together and you're like, how is this thing going to move the way that it looks like it moves on the box? And then like as you're putting it together, you're like, oh, wow. Like that's how a double jointed knee comes together. Pretty cool.
00:35:07
Speaker
And then you do the... yeah and up For all you audio listeners out there, you do the thumbs up. What we did was the the kid with the kid with blonde spiky hair, you throw the thumbs up.
00:35:20
Speaker
and can do the Fonzie. i like the Fonzie. Yeah, so three action-packed booths. Like you said, there's so much going on. Four action-packed booths. Four action-packed booths.
Comic-Con Booths and Panels Overview
00:35:35
Speaker
um make sure that you carve out some time in in your packed San Diego Comic-Con i adventure to to visit all four.
00:35:46
Speaker
And if you pre-ordered your exclusives, you'll have more time. That's right. Four booths, three panels, two of us, one amazing Comic-Con. Cotton! Got Perfect.
00:35:59
Speaker
Perfect. Speaking of those panels, I saw at least one person... present is going to be at one of them. But I haven't seen somebody else who's here do be the presenter on the the lectern since New York Comic Con two years ago.
00:36:18
Speaker
He did it last he did last year. so Yeah, we take turns. We have a running total. So at San Diego Comic Con, he just happened to be one up on me. So he decided we had to even it out. Even though I think at New York Comic Con, I'm significantly ahead. So I'll step back from all New York. I'm too busy working in New York. Oh, yeah. Yeah.
00:36:35
Speaker
I got to keep the lights on. I mean, you don't look strong, but I'm assuming that cross is heavy there. i got heavy bikes. Heavy bikes. Heavy bikes. Oh, jeez. the Tommache Nations panel is going to be a lot of fun. We have two people from Tommache Nations they are gonna host it.
00:36:50
Speaker
You know, Logan Chitwood is going one of the special guests. He was a hoot. We brought him down to Irvine to do a tea week celebration. And he took all sorts of fun photos with us. And he was just a delight.
00:37:01
Speaker
And then you know then we have some guests from Bandai Spirits coming down. we have Kano-san from the R&D department. And we have Akiba-san. And so, yeah, it's going to be action-packed. They are they're promising reveals. you know Our whole worry is that like well if you're going to reveal it there, you've got to reveal it there. And they're like, oh, we've got some reveals for So it's going to be very exciting for you figureheads. Awesome. That's awesome.
00:37:25
Speaker
Yeah, I always look forward to the displays that you guys have set up in the booths too. and Not even just the new stuff, but it's it's always great to see like... Everything. You know, Dave, as as a fellow Dragon Ball guy, um you know, like I always love like the Goku display and like the displays of the different like parts of the sagas and like seeing the figures that you guys have released like recently and how they they kind of stack up and like build these...
00:37:49
Speaker
these worlds that you guys have created. So um i can only imagine that, you know, with all of the recent releases and, you know, and the teases of things to come that there's going to be some really cool displays this year.
00:38:03
Speaker
Yeah. I like Dragon Ball is the only time my younger son gives, ah you know, what about my job? I have a really cool job. i get access to a lot of really cool stuff and neither of my kids can give a hoot.
00:38:13
Speaker
But my younger son I have a connection with Dragon Ball. And so whenever there's new Dragon Ball stuff, he's like, I saw you guys post something thing about Dragon Ball. That's pretty cool. That's it. It's hard impress. Even with the coolest job in the world, my kids are all in them. I guess when I come to San Diego Comic Con, stay in my hotel room, go in the pool, get room service, come the convention.
00:38:33
Speaker
What day is it? How many days is it? I play my Gorilla Tag VR, Dad. We'll do it in San Diego. You want to adopt me? Sure.
00:38:45
Speaker
I like the, you just seeing them in kind of context, like for someone who is a little bit out of the, a lot of bit out of the anime bubble, like, you know, the the stuff I know, like, oh, Godzilla and Ultraman, that, like those um displays, you know, I kind of understand the context, but to see the characters like mingling with who they would normally mingle with, like, it's really cool to see those displays. I always enjoy...
00:39:12
Speaker
The displays at at the booth. Yeah, it's great to see them arranged by their arcs. You know, you got the Namek arc, you got you turn a power of power bar, things like that. So it's always good to see them clustered together and in their fighting poses.
00:39:24
Speaker
And Dave, you mentioned you mentioned Ultraman. Ultraman's 60th anniversary. Big, big year for Ultraman. You guys, Tamashii Nations just revealed the the Ultraman, like the OG Ultraman figure with, like, the scan of the original actor, which is just amazing. Yeah.
00:39:41
Speaker
He's got a plan. I'm sure that display is going to be a lot of fun. Sorry. We've heard that song. The whole thing. The whole thing. The media suite was literally, here was the speaker for Diplo. Here was us.
00:39:55
Speaker
For an entire anime expo and senior comic-con. So that's nine days. All we heard was, but to your point. I still have my friend from the American dream.
00:40:06
Speaker
I love that guy. Oh, yeah. look at's there's a lot of those and That was in the blind bag, right? Yes, it was you know the color things you but you You helped me pull the one that I wanted to pull. you you gave me the Cavender luck.
00:40:20
Speaker
That's my my Jean Grey superpower. He's the GOAT. He's a good one. But yeah, I mean, the cool thing about San Diego though is that even if you you know you're not an anime fan, Tomashi pulls out all the stops and hits you know all these touch points on pop culture. So you know you'll see Game Reverse things and you'll see Marvel things and movie things and it's really, really exciting.
00:40:47
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah, that's really cool awesome and yeah there's there's always There's always those fun surprises. Like at New York Comic Con, the wicked figures. like you know like it's it's always It's always something interesting. That's the's one of the things that you know we love about the the Bondi kind of brand in general is that you guys touch so many different...
00:41:11
Speaker
I love my Spider-verses. Yeah, whether it's Marvel, whether it's, you know, like every now and then there's some DC stuff that pops up, anime, you know, stuff straight from manga. Like that but this this year, that um that manga ah Goku that was available at like the the Goku event at American Dream Mall that like people were like lining up for like hours and hours and hours. We're not here to talk about that. Yeah.
00:41:37
Speaker
there's wonder there's always There's always something for somebody, which I think is is's really great. so That's what we've got to say. It just said 80 degrees in this room. know. It dropped to 79.9. I'm back to 80. For whatever reason, the air conditioning in this room is not working, and I keep touching Justin with my sweaty arm. That's because they think people go home at this time. They don't know that some of us, who knows?
00:42:00
Speaker
yeah burn Yeah, I wanted to pull this tab. but this was This was the guy that I got the Justin luck on. It'd be really cool if I had like a sort of Peter and the Wolf thing where you squeezed it and the eye came out and it was attached to a little string and you had to shove it back on. That would be awesome. Squirt liquid at you?
00:42:19
Speaker
Like one those flowers? Some eye juice? Yeah. Smell my flower and I go, I got an iJuice guy. What color is the iJuice? Variety. Whoa, okay. A surprise. That's not a wine bag experience. You don't know what color the iJuice is going to be. who and you have to know i know Was that the the vitreous humor?
00:42:40
Speaker
Tastes like grapes. It's like a little candy cigarette where you get one good blow. got one good ice squeeze. Oh, I used to love those little candy cigarettes. Oh, with the sugar? Yeah. Yeah. Were you all, you guys old enough to remember those? Those like gum. Yeah. Powdered sugar. You got one blow and then you get like smoke and then you have to eat candy.
00:42:57
Speaker
And you put the, you put the pack in his sleeve and roll. Roll it out like you're, like you're a greaser. Yeah. So. Like with the outsiders. Yeah. So I think, I think to to close this out. i know Johnny.
00:43:11
Speaker
i know it's I know it's late for you guys, um but so yeah yeah ah what what I wanted to say is you know you you guys have been on this show. ah you know we've we've We've known each other for quite some time now, but this is actually the first time that we've gotten a chance to talk to you about San Diego.
00:43:28
Speaker
And I know how much the show means to you guys personally as as you know fans and collectors and And, you know your your existence outside of Bondi, what what's the thing
Personal Connection to San Diego Comic-Con
00:43:38
Speaker
that you look forward to most every year headed into san Diego Comic Con? And, you know, what is it this year?
00:43:47
Speaker
For me, it's just the chaos. Like, I freaking love and thrive the chaos that is San Diego Comic-Con. There's just a sea of people. There's ah a crazy energy. I get to see all my friends except for you guys because you're not going to be there. But J-Shot and Toy Shiz and Toy Me, he goes, they're going to be there. don't know about you. They found a way. I guess planes do go to the East Coast. But we do a lot of planning for this event, and I i can tell you that in all honesty,
00:44:14
Speaker
The day we come back to the office from San Diego, we've already started planning next year. So it is as quite an undertaking. We've gone as ah fans and attendees. We've gone as media. Now we go in as exhibitors.
00:44:27
Speaker
we have We've been going to Comic-Con since the 90s now. And so it is just a second home for us, man. We just absolutely love San Diego and all that it turns into. And I just, I can't wait, man. I love i love the town takeover. That's my my, at the end of the day, that's the coolest thing where even if you don't have a badge, there's a billion things for you to do and have a good time outside. Dave. Yeah, I mean, Jess and i we've been to hundreds of different conventions and San Diego is is wholly unique in that aspect that the whole town converts.
00:44:58
Speaker
What I love is like Justin mentioned that this is like a year, over year in planning. And so we've seen these things on like an Excel spreadsheet where like one square equals one foot of the booth. And then we get renders and we redo renders. And so to finally see these, these edifices just constructed, these, these monuments of geekdom, you know, it's just so rewarding to see what little hand we had in it.
00:45:19
Speaker
And it's just so nice. the chaos that Justin mentioned, it's, You know when you get so good at something to where from the outside it looks just like just madness, but you're in the pocket and you're in complete control of everything.
00:45:32
Speaker
And so our little media suite is like the eye of the storm to where everything around us is just like the dumpster fire like this is fine, this is fine. And then but we are able to just hold court and that is like the center of the universe for us. and everything is unfolding as it should be and it comes It comes from the planning, from artist adaptability, and just from our mindset of just being easygoing, laid-back individuals.
00:45:54
Speaker
It's like that shot where we're standing still, but the world is zooming by us at a billion miles a minute. Yeah, that's pretty cool. That's exactly what it feels like. Yeah, and so but we're exactly where we should be. like we we Me and Justin were born to be in the epicenter of San Diego Comic-Con and ushering people through their journey of toy fandom. And i just love that we are the ones who get to take people on this journey. And they're overwhelmed and they're overstimulated. And we just pull them by the hand. them down And we just say, you can't do it all.
00:46:26
Speaker
Just come with me. Just. Breathe and just have a good time. Because California is a different vibe. you know East Coast, you guys are a little... I'm walking here. Once you get to the left coast, we walk slower. We take our time.
00:46:43
Speaker
We don't let things bother us. you know In New York, I've seen like a million people gonna get like stabbing fights. we're In San Diego, they're bumping each other. they're go Oh, man, I'm sorry. Oh, you know, worries. And these go the other way. to get The switchblade comb. and Yeah. No big deal. Yeah. want to about your business And so it's just great to see San Diego vibe. And it's great to see everyone coming from all over the world and adapting that San Diego. vi Yes. No matter where you come from.
00:47:06
Speaker
By the time you're like 12 hours in San Diego, you just... You're a loaker. Yeah, you're like like, this weather is... I mean, the weather is perfect. You know, I'm with all these like-minded individuals. We're no longer niche basement dwellers.
00:47:18
Speaker
Anything, any fandom... We don't have basements. Yeah, we don't have basements. That helps. Any fandom or niche thing is at Comic-Con. If you're mainstream guy from Marvel DC, it's there. got Star Wars, you've got anime, you've got, I'm sure, some tentacle stuff, you other weird things, but whatever you're in here...
00:47:35
Speaker
Comic-Con's got your cover games, card games. Artist Alley is amazing. Like, you could walk down Artist Alley and see the most amazing artists, and you're like, why aren't you, like, working at Marvel? and Because there's a million.
00:47:46
Speaker
Super talented. It's great. Sorry to wax poetically. It's the place to be, man. No, that was amazing. I appreciate the waxing. gri It's a beautiful place. Mm-hmm. So remind our listeners, remind our viewers one last time, where can they find you guys at San Diego?
00:48:05
Speaker
We will be at booth 3329 at the Tomaschi Nations booth. If you're entering the exhibit hall, we are on the right side of the booth and we'll have our media suite there. You can tap on the glass. You can knock and do whatever. We'll come out say hi.
00:48:19
Speaker
Usually I'm standing outside anyway because I don't like the crowded space. So I'll just be standing. i'll probably wearing a shirt just like this. So come say hi. I'd love to talk toys with you.
00:48:29
Speaker
Talk about anything. Yeah, don't wait until we're leaving the elevator. We've got it twice now. Like, like hey, Dave and Justin. I'm like, i what, what? And the door goes ding. And like, and Justin makes fun of me for a whole year about being mean to the darkness 48. Yeah, it happens. um Yeah, yeah. So I think it's it's it's beautiful. Yeah, and if you want to join in on our Godzilla games, you know,
00:48:48
Speaker
Find one of us and we'll try to get you on the list. Yeah, so Thursday, Friday, they will be at 1230 at the Godzilla booth. And that is 3345. That's right behind the Tamashu Nation booth. And then on Saturday, Sunday, the Godzilla games will be at 12 o'clock exactly on the dot.
00:49:05
Speaker
And then we may play random games in and out, but that'll be the main time where we'll play some big games for that super limited pin. The epic pin. Yeah. Yeah. You may only have a couple of.
00:49:18
Speaker
Yeah, very low number. Yeah. I don't want to see on eBay. Ridiculously known. Yeah, you want it, man. It's yours. Yeah, it's on eBay. A little something for the effort. Yeah, if you sell it, that's, I mean, whatever. You do you. It's your world.
00:49:30
Speaker
Capitalists, I get it. but That's the New York way right there. Yeah, so I sold my Funko Hellboy pop, I guess, one year. like Mike Magnolia did like a panel and everyone got a Conan O'Brien, him as Hellboy. And there was like 100 of us in the room and like it was it went for like $400. I'm like, well, don't care about Hellboy, but I care about $400. I care about Conan.
00:49:54
Speaker
Yeah, I did. He's a friend that year. We had to pay for the room. Whose room? Your room. Like the one year we thought we ran the whole Airbnb, but it was just one room in the Airbnb. That was fun year. Oh yeah. That sucks. No air. No air. Holy shit. So it's just B&B. But did they have a coffee maker?
00:50:16
Speaker
yeah it Probably, but we think about it, so we wouldn't know. Remember you just walking around with a shirt on all the time? Yeah. That was a seven-year-old man, just shirtless. That was an experience. Remember the one where we went out in the backyard for a baby and the lady was out there with her clothes on?
00:50:30
Speaker
And she's like, clever oh my God, forgot you were here. I'm like, oh, five stars. It's a very George McFly binoculars. You got five stars. Five stars. Would recommend.
00:50:40
Speaker
Sounds like a jackass skit. It actually does. And then you turn back around and get slapped by a giant hand. Yeah, right. Wow. Dude, we were just talking about that hand like yesterday. Yeah, I was trying to get kid to go to the movie show meeting. And I'm like, hey, we go see Jackass. What's a Jackass? I'm like, let show you this one skit. I'll show him the hands. He's like, all right, let's go.
00:51:01
Speaker
How was it? Did you go see it? Yeah, it was fun. It was like ah it was like ah like a Greatest Hits type thing. There was a lot of old things, like even with Bam and stuff. And and it was kind of the a lot of them talking about their old skits and then showing the old skits.
00:51:14
Speaker
But they did have a couple new ones. I saw they left a seat open for Bam at the premiere. That's sweet. And ah Ape and Phil were there, too. Yep. Very cool. a Well, guys, thank you so much for joining us.
00:51:27
Speaker
yeah We're done We're done. We started 50 degrees ago and this fit in this room. Now it's 80.4 degrees. We got let you go we gotta to let you go so that way you can get to San Diego. I mean, this this is going to air, and you guys are going to be already, like, revving up and and ready to go. We're here on Tuesday.
00:51:45
Speaker
We're excited. This is how is now. i will Imagine how we're going be Wednesday when this thing starts. Ooh, yeah. And that's the best time to catch us is preview night. Because we're just standing there watching the craziness happen. We still have our voices. Yeah, it goes away pretty quick. Yeah, because usually from like 5 a.m. to 7 p.m., all we're doing all day is like talk-talking. If we're talking to somebody or something, and then day ends, and then everyone wants to hang out with us because we're awesome, and I'm like, just want back to my room and get overeats watch Netflix. I genuinely can't imagine either of you without the ability to speak.

Speaker
Like that has to be. It was a good part. Saturday is tough, If I remember Comic-Con correctly, it was either Comic-Con or Toy Fair. Dave was close. Yeah.
00:52:32
Speaker
it gives It gets bad. So Toy Fair, we ended up doing appointments. And that's a lot. In basically three days. Yeah, that was hardcore. And they're all 30 minutes, as you know, they're like 30 minutes. yeah seconds Right. So we were one of them. Between the three of us, we did, ah we did a, AJ was the other one. and We did 180 appointments. So many. And for San Diego, we usually do about 70, but with the amount of panels that we're doing this year, And the Godzilla games, it's down to like 36. So it's about half than what we normally do. And then outside of you know influencers of stuff, we got to talk to media, we've got talk to licensors, we've got talk to our partners. so
00:53:10
Speaker
It's just now stopped talking. I mean, I love it. It's the best job in the world. But by the third day, there was ah a famous podcaster who had like a special drink, a Starbucks order, and actually tried it and it worked pretty good. But I felt bad ordering it because it was that guy well yeah was it was the one guy and everyone was ordering his drink and putting his name on it. so They're like, oh, let me guess your name. like It's not that.
00:53:34
Speaker
But they've been trying to let us go. They're like, I'm done talking to these assholes. Well, listen, we we hope you guys have a great time at San Diego Comic-Con. We will be covering it from afar, and um hopefully we make it out there next year, and we will definitely be seeing you guys in October at ah in the New York City. This is the most I've heard Eric say, like, the closest, like, oh, next year, next year. So this may be getting willed into existence. right Yeah, yeah i'm I'm trying to make it happen.
00:54:07
Speaker
trying to make happen. know if Justin's seen the full calendar, I think we're going to be in New York a lot more. We're going to be there like six times for the year. We have a lot of action happening the October, November, December. So we'll see before. it Okay.
00:54:21
Speaker
Yeah. All right. just live in my Hotels and crash at your place. yeah I love that for us. They're like, like Dave, let me stay at right? No, no. um I'm looking at where you're going to sleep. it's good It's right there.
00:54:35
Speaker
right Right off camera. All right. I got ready for you. You have all these cool toys in the background, but I can't even see them. Your camera's snuffed the wrong way. gotta lower the camera. Gotta raise the camera so I can see the kids.
00:54:46
Speaker
Yeah. Well, now we now I gotta... You gotta raise it. yeah You gotta it. My ceiling is right here. You gotta raise the roof. They wrote a song about it. Yeah. Or put your laptop on like ah like an Apple box. I just realized you're wearing long sleeves, and I am floored right now.
00:55:05
Speaker
It's so cold up here. It's a long-sleeved t-shirt? Is it a long, not a sweatshirt? It's a t-shirt? No, long sleeve tee, yeah. We were talking about that today, too. were. And how we would wear a t-shirt over the long sleeve tee. That's how you cool. I love my long sleeve. Janko jeans.
00:55:22
Speaker
The t-shirt over the long sleeve was definitely... A look I rocked for a long time. yeah yeah it was For me, it was a t-shirt over like a waffle shirt. Like one of those thermal waffle shirts. I did either one. I called it the Tom's. It was the Tom's. I like it.
00:55:43
Speaker
He was a sailor. the part is Oh, yeah, like like Timberlands or something? No but no pants. No pants. Like Donald, just the Donald Duck.
00:55:54
Speaker
Yeah. It's the Donald Duck look. We love Donald Duck. We love Donald Duck. We love Donald Duck. We love Donald Duck. Yeah. Donald Winnie the Pooh. I belt it, and it was like... We'll listen through song about that. It was like night shirt length, and then I'd belt it.
00:56:07
Speaker
Didn't you have a belt? like it opens No No. Do you have a hat? A sleep hat, too? Christmas goose. Yeah, a little candle holder. What day is it? And he got that one guy with all the chains making all that noise.
00:56:22
Speaker
What was his name again? it was visiting Jacob Marley. Jacob Marley. We made a toy of him, you know? I oh my got it yeah somewhere. But i always think of I always think of Marley and Marley. I think of Muppets Christmas Carol when they made them the Marley brothers and it was Statler and Waldorf.
00:56:40
Speaker
Yeah, yeah. But i I am the resident Muppet fan in this couple here. Justin does not like the Muppets and I love the Muppets. No, you wouldn't. i wouldn't let you I wouldn't let you. They're actually making...
00:56:55
Speaker
it's It's coming out na diszzney out this year. They're making a new version of um my micke man Christmas Carol does with Johnny Depp as Ebenezer Scrooge.
00:57:11
Speaker
I don't think it's Disney, though. No, it's not Disney. words just like But it's a dark version. My name went to Muppets, and i didn't hear anything on Muppetly. Yeah. Sorry. I do love the Muppets, though.
00:57:23
Speaker
We both love the Muppets. They took over for Aerosmith in Florida. Dude, it was amazing. I was just there. Oh, were you? My wife's last year. So my entire life, I've wanted to go to Orlando. I've been with my wife since October 17, 1993. And one of the facts she knows about me. We saw Cool Runnings together. December 13, 1993, we saw Cool Runs. Still have the movie ticket.
00:57:47
Speaker
I wanted to go to Orlando forever. i say it did it was It was our 25th wedding anniversary. It was last week. So we went to Orlando earlier on in the year with our kids. And it was amazing.
00:57:58
Speaker
We got to go see Muppet's Rock and Roller Coaster. we And we got it's all five songs. It did take Manhattan. Nice. And caper. You don't hear the word caper too often. No, it's kind of a word.
00:58:12
Speaker
Very under underutilized word. You guys should have the great San Diego Comic-Con caper. you know what ker we've done is we've kept this podcast when that's our caper they don't want to go yeah we can extend we could talk we could talk all night you want to make this a marathon we'll just run it heat it's our muppets coming up in eighty o like we're falling in love and we're talking on the phone to like eight in the morning all night i guess's like if you could listen to one song before you died what would it be like that kind of kind of deep conversations yeah no it
00:58:43
Speaker
Do you die when the song ends? soon as song ends, you die. But can't it you havent in because have free nights and weekends, it's all good? like you Just play a punk song if you don't have nights and weekends.
00:58:55
Speaker
In a God of DaVita Iron Butterfly. That's too long. That's like 17 minutes. After a while, you're like, you know, i just want to die now. I have the vinyl. Me too, actually. Is it longer because of the song? No.
00:59:09
Speaker
Is it a bigger, thick album? Double album? them i don't even know how records work. That's um that's a mystery to me. What do you mean? There's little Groves app music. I don't understand. Nate Bragetski had a stand-up special. You could drop me off in like ancient times, and I wouldn't change the world at all. They'd be like, yeah, one one day we're going cell phones. How do those work? I don't know. He's like, I couldn't replicate anything.
00:59:33
Speaker
like, yeah, I know about it, but like I'm not going to be able to change history. Right. yeah there's There's this great guy on YouTube right now that that's like he breaks down 90s content and and and earlier than that.
00:59:47
Speaker
And he just did a Sword in the Stone. And he's like, you have this ultra powerful wizard that can show you anything. like He has access to the future. And what he does is he turns you into a squirrel. Yeah.
00:59:59
Speaker
Like that's... and And like makes like pots and pans move. Like he's the most powerful magician in the world. But like that's the thing that he does. He could show you anything that happens in the future. But nope, he's going to turn you into a squirrel and put you in a tree with a ah a a squirrel that doesn't understand boundaries.
01:00:16
Speaker
There's all of our last kitchen, though. it's like ah eagiden It's like you need to learn ah you know mathematics before they hand you a calculator. It's this this the sort of the same vibe. How can you rule England england if you don't live with a squirrel roommate? right That squirrel? Oh my god, breaks my heart. But my i was I think I was telling you this the other day, when when the big squirrel is all up in Merlin's business, and he's like, Matt Dillon, you're invading my personal space kind of thing.
01:00:42
Speaker
I say that to my dog almost every single day. The Rizzo is just always invading my space, and it's always Mad Dunn. Oh my God. Criminally underrated Disney animated Disney film. We were talking about Madden.
01:00:57
Speaker
Hours ago. love Madden. She's great. i know on the way And When, um speaking of Merlin and his little spells and stuff, you know, he's like, huckety-puckety-wuckety-wack, odds and ends and blah, blah, blah. When McGonagall was summoning the statues outside of Hogwarts to defend, I say, huckety-puckety-wuckety-wack, make these statues defend this attack.
01:01:25
Speaker
is Rest the dendetarium. So if you ever go on a Disney cruise, if you ever go on a Disney cruise i disney i on the re it's on Disney Disney Cruises are great.
01:01:40
Speaker
Disney Cruises are great. If you're going to Disney Dream, it is the one Disney property that uses... like the character Merlin in one of their shows, like he plays a very, very important role in one of the shows and it is hysterical.
01:01:57
Speaker
Like I wish they did it in the parks and stuff, but like they do these like Broadway caliber shows on cruises and the one on the Disney dream, the like one that's unique to that ship features Merlin very heavily and it is hilarious. Like it's perfect.
01:02:12
Speaker
Absolutely perfect. And it involves that song. Oh, cool. Yeah. I won't get i like that coyote or wolf or whatever. The wolf is trying to to eat poor Arthur and he's just exhausted. Oh my god, I can't deal with you right now. You can't get it right. You can't get it right. my My underrated ones are Robin Hood and Black Cauldron.
01:02:32
Speaker
Oh, I like Robin Hood. like Black Cauldron too. There's this amazing talk about Black Cauldron, about what it's supposed to be versus what it was, and the Michael Eisner of it all. ah Yeah, it's great.
01:02:44
Speaker
yeah oh and that there's another one like uh for that for uh emperor's new groove that's called dude i didn't see that movie until like 2019 and i loved it like it was an incredibly different movie originally yeah i remember seeing that in theaters it took a couple years to make it right like they just had been and back to record yes what are you my words david They wanted Sting to be the new like Phil Collins. like they had like they so After having the success of having like Phil Collins do the two movies, because he did Tarzan and Mother Mother Bear, they wanted Sting to do the same thing for that movie, which is why there's that one random, very off-tone Sting song that plays during the credits. like It feels tonally very different than the vibe of the entire movie, because it was supposed to be like a
01:03:41
Speaker
like a darker story. And i yeah, watch the documentary, Sweatbox. It's amazing. um This is going to be one of those situations, Dave, where I actually don't know how to get us out, like how to actually end this podcast. What if we just separate the game? Justin, separate. I'm not ready to go. I think the only way that we can do this is if you guys actually reverse out.
01:04:08
Speaker
I think that's the only way. That's what you just said. That's what just said. Yeah, listen. You gotta do skin hot. It's now Bob in his room. It's 80.8. It's Bob. Okay.
01:04:24
Speaker
Ready, Dave? Dave's going to give you the countdown. He's going give you a countdown from five. Start at 100. All right. Ready, Dave? All right. Five, four, three,
