Speaker: And I'm Dave. Welcome to Adventures in Collecting, where we talk toy news, culture, and hauls. Along with our journeys as collectors.
Speaker: Hello everybody and welcome back to Adventures in Collecting Premium Toyetic Event. ah This week we are taking a look at the w WWE's latest PLE, that being Clash in Paris. Of course, live from Paris, France.
Speaker: So we're already a couple weeks out from ah Clash in Paris. But due to some travel and some other obligations on the podcast, we haven't had the chance to talk about um who we feel is most toyetic from ah this premium live event.
Speaker: But before we hop into that, a little bit of housekeeping. So, of course, it is September. And as always, we do have our monthly giveaway.

Speaker: So we will be at New York Comic Con live and in person next month in October. We are starting to book our meetings. We are starting to book our interviews. um It's going to be a big show.
Speaker: Hasbro will be there in full booth, um all that good stuff. i McFarlane toys. There's there's going to be a lot of people there. So um definitely keep an eye on our socials. Make sure you're subscribed to us on YouTube, all that good stuff.
Speaker: So that way you don't miss any of the news. We are going to be there live and in person. So I'm very, very excited to to bring the Comic-Con coverage back to Adventures in Collecting.
Speaker: So with that, let's hop straight away into ah our premium toyotic event. um So ah if this is the first time you've watched one of these, ah welcome to premium toyotic event.
Speaker: So this we are not doing match recaps. We are not doing ah who who was the best, who was the biggest reveal, anything like that. We are strictly talking about... WWE, PLEs, and how they relate to the action figure world. So what we want to see, our friends at Mattel, Steve, Magic, ah Bill, ah what we want to see them tackle and bring to the line in either an Elite, an Ultimate, or a main event ah version.
Speaker: So... With that, let's dive right in. So, of course, Clash in Paris ah it was was live from Paris, France. Absolutely a magnetic crowd.
Speaker: They were magma hot the entire show. and um And the show was pretty packed, honestly. So our first pick is going to come from the first bout, and that is Mr. mr Tribal Thief, Mr. Shulafala himself, ah Big Bronson Reed.
Speaker: So ah Bronson has had two w WWE elite figures um so far, and both have been based on his kind of Bam Bam Bigelow-esque inspired attire.
Speaker: ah He, of course, now rocks all black. He's got this big black coat. for a coat. And honestly, I think this is a really cool opportunity to repurpose legitimate sneaker foot molds that they've, that the the team has done um and give Bronson a Shula Fala or two in this case.
Speaker: um I think, you know, likely you're looking at, probably an ultimate edition figure here. It's a lot of plastic plastic between the entrance coat and Shula follows and the different facial expressions.
Speaker: Um, but I think Bronson has proven that he is ah main event material that he is going to be around for a while. I mean, the dude jumped off the top of the war game cell and, uh, and broke both of his ankles and he's back and he's, you know, he's, he's taken folks like Roman reigns and putting on clinics. So, um,
Speaker: You know he's definitely the real deal. The Ozzilla. ah ah ga Let's let's get him into the ultimate edition and let's get him some Shulafalas. Let's let's get the tribal thief ah back into ah onto shelves um and onto pegs and into people's collections to join his other two um elite ah figures. So, yeah, our first pick from Clash in Paris is a Big Bronson Reed.
Speaker: um Moving on to the second pick. um Now, this we normally don't talk about main events on this ah main main the main event line in this in these episodes. We we typically will stick to elites or ultimates.
Speaker: But I actually think this is a really fun opportunity to put um Seamus and Rusev into one of those main event showdown packs. So pack, you could put, you know, maybe instead of a belt, put a couple of weapons in there. You know, the shillelagh for instance, but it's been a while since we've had,
Speaker: ah Rusev, obviously, in the WWE wwe Elite line. We most recently had Miro figures from the folks over at Jazzwares during his run in AEW, um the second of which was actually a very, very good figure.
Speaker: But ah he's Rusev again. So Rusev is back. um The Donnybrook match was awesome. I mean, these two are just... you know, they're, they're very good friends in real life.
Speaker: And, um and their chemistry in the ring is, is, I don't want to say unrivaled, but it's up there. I mean, they, they are so good together in the ring. um And like I said, we haven't had a Rusev figure in a while. So while I would love a new elite Rusev figure, I think this would be a cool opportunity to do one of those two packs, um put them them together.
Speaker: Sheamus has been wearing a lot of red recently. It was nice to see him back in the green trunks, um more classic Sheamus colors and Rusev in the the um the UFC style ah trunks and you know the kickers and everything.
Speaker: um both just two toyetic meaty dudes. So, uh, would love to see the Bulgarian brute, uh, back in the, uh, in, in getting into collections, you know, those, the, the older Rusev figures, not only are they aesthetically no longer accurate, um,
Speaker: as as rusev has changed his look slimmed down and bulked up and balded they are pretty expensive on the aftermarket so would love to be able to uh get some some rusev action figure photographers and on shelves and stuff like that so yeah let's get uh let's get rusev back into uh into collector's hands and now a word from our sponsors

Speaker: And now back to the show. Moving on to pick number three. ah It's going to take us to the women's intercontinental match from the, ah from the event. And it is Nikki Bella.
Speaker: So, um, Nikki's been on TV quite a bit. Uh, she's still got it. i mean, she's, she's awesome in the ring. Um, she had a great match against Becky at clash in Paris and, you know, she's been a part of a lot of storylines, uh, since she, since her return.
Speaker: um and while we wait for the potential return of her sister, maybe somewhere down the line, um, in the meantime, let's get Nikki back into, uh, into an elite form. So,
Speaker: i you know, nothing, ah a lot, nothing, it same, same, but different, right? um Not much has changed about her general look um over the years since she's had her last figure, but ah technology certainly has. So let's get, let's get a new likeness.
Speaker: um We've seen the w WWE team at Mattel do some interesting things with, with heads and hair. So I think this would be a really cool figure to do swappable hair with actually. So that way you could do the tight fitting baseball cap and hair down ah and have the entire hair and hat come off similar to something maybe like ah like we saw with JD McDonough or um Jimmy Uso, right? But let's let's attach the hat to it um so that way we get that one kind of like you know quintessential Nikki Bella face sculpt and you get you know basically to two sets of hair to go with her.
Speaker: um I think this is definitely elite category, ah something that you know, I think works as a as a current figure as well as a just kind of a quintessential look for her. um You know, she's she's super toyetic and all of her reds, blacks and whites um love the Nikes.
Speaker: So, i yeah, are the third pick for this premium toyetic event is Nikki Bella. And that brings us to our final pick. This would not be an adventures in collecting um PLE as of late or premium PTE as of late without picking this next ah superstar.
Speaker: But of course, we're going to close it out with ah with CM Punk himself, even though right now I am way more concerned about getting a new AJ Lee figure. Yeah. then I am getting another CM Punk figure.
Speaker: But, you know, we're seeing a lot of, obviously he's, he's super popular. We're seeing a lot of a big resurgence in, ah you know, CM Punk figures due to his, his success in the ring. And as well as just his kind of overall popularity is one of the biggest wrestlers in the world.
Speaker: Um, And he's been making some really cool ring gear decisions. So at SummerSlam, we got to see his Fantastic Four The Thing inspired ring gear. and i And here in Clash in Paris, he's wearing Doctor Doom ah inspired ah gear with the silvers and the the greens and the blacks.
Speaker: um Or maybe Slytherin. No, but it's definitely it's definitely Doctor Doom. um But we've also been getting new CM Punk head sculpts, um new soft goods T-shirts. I love the the yeah one of the new merch shirts that he's got on the the the tank top that he that he has cut here is an awesome punk rock and style inspired.
Speaker: um ah T-shirt. So new soft goods, new colorway on the, on the ring gear. And we'd love to see, um you know, ah a different head sculpt too. You know, we kind of get that same kind neutral expression ah face sculpt, which is great with the the short hair kind of slick back, but his hair um has been getting a little bit longer and he hasn't been slicking it back. It's kind of been just, ah I almost want to say like parted down the middle almost.
Speaker: Yeah. So I would love to see some new hair, maybe a new face sculpt for Punk on an Elite with that new ah soft goods and the and the repainted um ring gear.
Speaker: But a yeah, again, just would make an awesome figure. And I love whenever they can do one of those subtle nods to... um a fandom or a property that they maybe don't have license for, but because of the specific color choice, you know, the, the, the nod is there.
Speaker: So, uh, if, if we don't get the, um, well, we should get the, the, uh, the ultimate edition, um, fantastic four inspired summer slam CM punk. That would be amazing, but I think this would make a great elite figure.
Speaker: And again, you know, just a new head sculpt, maybe with, with some updated hair for, uh, for Pepsi Phil. And, um, you know, as you know, with the elites and ultimates, you know, you can swap heads and stuff like that. So if you want to use this head on a different body for whether it's for photography or display or or play, um, you could, so would absolutely love to see, um,
Speaker: Would love to see this version of CM Punk come to the the Elite Collection. So with that, that brings us to the end of this PTE and our ah and our selections from Clash in Paris.
