Keeper, where we talk about it all, from superheroes to wrestlers, we stand tall, we're and Kevin, the dynamic duo inside, keeper.

Technical Challenges and Adjustments

00:01:16
Speaker
Hey
00:01:26
Speaker
happening Hey Raymond, how are you doing? So before we started this podcast, I briefly mentioned to you that this microphone of mine seems to be getting closer to my face, correct?
00:01:36
Speaker
I think I've solved the issue with that. I will have to adjust it. But I bought like a $13 computer chair at Walmart, so the thing had no padding. So this is the first time I'm using the new pad I got for it, which is like four inches higher than I was sitting before. So got to adjust this guy sometime soon.

Snowy New England Winter

00:01:53
Speaker
but How's your week been, bud? Been good. It's been cold. We are in winter and it's been hitting us hard. But living in New England, we know this. This is the most snow we've had in years.
00:02:07
Speaker
It is. number For at least a decade. Been home watching a lot

'Better Call Saul' Season 5 Discussion

00:02:11
Speaker
of stuff. We'll talk about that. a couple of movie reviews, couple of TV reviews. of Penultimate episode we're going talk about.
00:02:19
Speaker
But first... I did it. I don't know how, but I watched another season of Better Call Saul. Yep. Season five. Sure. This is where you told me things are going to change, and it did. Definitely got closer to the Breaking Bad universe.
00:02:37
Speaker
Season four is like a bridge between like yeah the Saul universe and the Breaking Bad universe, and five and six are straight up Breaking Bad universe. yeah Like we mentioned before, the show is a great lawyer drama in the beginning. But it does you definitely get the feel of Breaking Bad, especially in the fifth season. Episode three, in fact, you see Hank show up.
00:03:01
Speaker
And he's interrogating one of Saul's clients um that are in the illegal ring. um and he's in the whole entire episode.
00:03:12
Speaker
It made me remember how great Hank was in Breaking Bad. Again, I gotta go back and watch that. Remember this, um which you haven't seen Breaking Bad for a long time. no um So, the only reason why they go to Saul is because he got um Eduardo off multiple times, right?
00:03:35
Speaker
But he was actually working as an informant, which is what which is what you discover here. is He's been the informant the entire time. So basically, Jesse was going to be fucked if they didn't end up killing him in the basement in episode three first season of Breaking Bad.
00:03:51
Speaker
I don't remember any of that. That's how long it's been since I've watched that show. I mean, yeah, 2013 is when you watch it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. These are just things that, like, I picked up on my second watch of Saw that I'm like, oh, yeah, because I had just watched Breaking Bad before, so everything was so fresh in my mind.
00:04:06
Speaker
I started watching Breaking Bad maybe a year before the finale came and then I picked it up that night. i actually finished that season that weekend that the finale aired, the series finale.
00:04:18
Speaker
But yeah, so the first season was probably 13, 14 years ago, if that was the case. That's right when I started getting into Netflix, and I realized that Netflix had some great series on there, and Breaking Bad is the one that I'd always wanted to watch, and I got into it early. Yeah.
00:04:32
Speaker
um But overall, great. The best episode of the season, though, is episode eight. The Bagman episode. Saul and Mike are stuck in the desert.
00:04:44
Speaker
And it reminded me, I told you, it reminded me of the Pine Barrens episode from Sopranos, which is one of the best episodes of that series. where And it's similar to a Breaking Bad episode also. Yeah, very similar.
00:04:55
Speaker
um but The show is great. I watched the first episode, part of the first episode of the next season, and I know that's the last season, we'll talk about it probably next week or the week after. i don't remember what we're watching this week, but I probably will have time to watch it. But um I did notice there's 13 episodes in the last season, too. I don't know if there's a reason for that. Yes. Yes, there is. A very specific reason.
00:05:19
Speaker
um The main reason, honestly, I think, is they wanted one more episode than Breaking Bad. Breaking Bad has 62 episodes, this has 63. And also, Breaking Bad was 13 episodes per season. Okay, yeah. So that could be why. yeah Yeah. Remember that. That used to be a thing. Now it's not not more than 10.
00:05:36
Speaker
episodes per season unless you're unless you're a network television show. out the hell like We mentioned it before. How did I get through Smallville? yours How did I get through 11 seasons of Smallville, 22 episodes each season, and I can barely get through 10 episodes now per season. but Great show. Cannot wait to finish this series. Then I've got to figure out what I'm going do next. I've got so many other shows on my docket to watch, but this is definitely one that was on the top.
00:06:04
Speaker
Fallout Episode 7. um We are at the end. I'm getting bored with this show, have to be honest with you.

Exploring 'Night of the Seven Kingdoms'

00:06:10
Speaker
I'm waiting for it to end before watch. Watch it next week, and we'll talk about the finale next week. But I'm getting very bored. um I don't know if it's just because it's being released weekly or what it is, or it's not as good as the first season. I don't know.
00:06:25
Speaker
But we'll talk about it next week, the finale. Okay. A great show coming out weekly, Night of the Seven Kingdoms on HBO. First five minutes of first episode, we see him shitting on a tree. And the second episode, we see his master's big, huge dong swinging around like a second sword. um this e This show is great. um And...
00:06:51
Speaker
I don't think we've talked about what the plan is for this show. I know you sent me something yesterday about how many seasons it could last and how many stories George R. Martin has planned.
00:07:02
Speaker
They want to keep the same kid as Egg going forward, so they're going to do it like every 10 years, do like a batch of four seasons or whatever. You mean every every three every three years, you mean, or going forward? I think they said 10 years between, like, take a 10-year break is what it sounded like when I reread it.
00:07:20
Speaker
Oh, interesting. Jesus. um But if that's the case, this story will literally be with me until I'm, like, 70. And also, it'll end with Harrenhal, which...
00:07:33
Speaker
Yeah, that's going to crush a lot of people. I heard it was a devastating event. There's no way this show is going to last on HBO for 30 years. There's no possible way.
00:07:46
Speaker
I know, right? Taking a 10-year break in between. Ratings are not going to that. Yeah, exactly.
00:07:52
Speaker
yeah exactly it'll it'll be It'll be exactly what they did with House of Dragons. It'll be a jump. I hope so. but After the third season. I hope so. If this lasts, from what you said last week or yesterday, if it goes, they want him 10 years of the kid for a 10-year time period, which the kid could grow in the next two years, could look like he's 18 or look like he's 15 two years from now. Because he's 10 now, so yeah. Right.
00:08:17
Speaker
If they do that these' first three. And they're doing this yearly, which is great for an HBO show. Because nowadays don't hear that. They've already confirmed it. They've already confirmed it. It'll be starting up again next January.
00:08:28
Speaker
Yeah, so if they do that, I could see taking three years as a kid, taking the first three seasons, the next three seasons is going a little bit older, maybe in the 20s, hiring a new actor to play him, of course. And then they're talking about him being a full adult, too, for a third part. There's 12 stories total that George R. Martin said he's had.

Mel Brooks: A Career Retrospective

00:08:50
Speaker
So there's a lot to tell here, but he's becoming a knight.
00:08:54
Speaker
um And we're seeing some Targaryens in this episode. We're seeing a lot of connections to Game of Thrones mythos. So I cannot wait to see where this goes um and see how this, I mean, we only have four episodes left. So it's very quick watch, yeah very short episodes too, compared to what Game of Thrones usually is. So that's awesome.
00:09:13
Speaker
Which I thought would bother me, but it actually works very well for this show. I just wish it was more consistent. like I wish they were all 35 or all 40 or all 30. I just wish it was more consistent so you knew exactly how long each episode was. But yeah it's working so far, and I'm loving the show to death.
00:09:28
Speaker
yeah know is this Is this on HBO too? Is this just on Max? I don't know. It's an HBO thing. And of course, you know, Egg is like my probably, probably my second favorite person in Game of Thrones lore.
00:09:42
Speaker
Okay. say Yeah, we'll know more about that coming soon. Behind there's behind the book, Jon Snow. There's some teases of who Egg is. They've been talking about it. I'm not going to get into it now, but they've been mentioning him in the series throughout of somebody. We're not going get into it until it's revealed, but a great show. It's on HBO on Sunday nights. We'll talk about episode three next week.
00:10:05
Speaker
Um, and speaking of HBO, speaking of great, awesome documentary, two parts, Mel Brooks, the 99 year old man, a playoff of his 2000 year old man bit that he did with Carl Reiner, which is part of the documentary at the beginning of his career. Um,
00:10:24
Speaker
Directed by Judd Apatow. Judd Apatow is done. He did Gary Shanling. He did George Carlin. And this is his third biopic. He's done on Mel Brooks. And he actually was able to interview Mel and Mel was a part of this. um Two parts are around out now on HBO Max tackling his whole entire career.
00:10:42
Speaker
um Yeah. I got a little misty eye when Carl Reiner was on the screen. Yeah. Documentary. yeah Very great. And I'm not, you know me, I'm not huge. I'm not, I like Mel Brooks a lot. um But I'm not like you, like you're much bigger because of Spaceballs connection you have to him.
00:10:57
Speaker
I'm a huge fan of Mel Brooks. Like, I'm a huge fan via basically Curb Your Enthusiasm. I liked his movies growing up also, but like, I didn't really know who Mel Brooks like. Back then when I was younger, I had really know directors and stuff until like, I saw him on like Curb and I was like, oh, that's the guy that did like Spaceballs and all that stuff.
00:11:14
Speaker
um yeah Great documentary. Fantastic. Spaceballs for me is definitely his highlight. um But there's so many other movies in between that are great. Started off part one. He was in World War II.
00:11:27
Speaker
um Was overseas after the war in the cleanup effort. And they talked about him trying to navigate Germany or France, I think it was France, and go through all the mines and and have to use this the bar bayonet sideways to make sure the but mines didn't blow up in his face, which is a crazy story. um Sid Caesar's show shows is where he got his start as a writer, um and he talks a lot about in the documentary, which surprised me, about his anxiety in show business and being kind of overwhelmed by it. which you don't hear a lot of actors or creators in Hollywood talking about. So I'm glad to to hear that sometimes when people talk, talk up about him.
00:12:05
Speaker
Um, Carl Reiner talked a lot about him and his, and his deep friendship with him since the fifties and the 2000 year old man bit that they did. Um, and Bancroft was his wife and Bancroft was Mrs. Robinson from the graduate.
00:12:19
Speaker
Um, she was in a whole bunch of other movies. She was also, she did the cameo, like you mentioned in the curb, your enthusiasm episode. She was in that with him. um get smart his greatest creation i've been a fan of get smart since i was a kid did not realize until i was in my 20s yeah did not realize until i was in my 20s and he created to get smart and wrote the get smart and was big part of it i love that um and springtime for hitler the producers with and finding gene wilder which is a
00:12:54
Speaker
how can we and we, we talked about Gene Wilder before in his documentary, but yeah diamond in the rough that he became partners with, not just that, but end up becoming partners in blazing saddles became a number one movie in blazing saddles in 1974. And he had another number one movie in 1974 and part two picked up with young Frankenstein, which is a great movie. Just watch that recently.
00:13:17
Speaker
guess in the last year I finished it. Um, silent movie, high anxiety, history of the world. Part one, um, Brooks film production did not know. He had his own production company and the fly and the elephant man elephant man got a lot of praise. Um, and, uh, to be or not to be, he didn't direct that, but he started it with his wife. Um, and of course, baseballs, uh, George Lucas gave his blessing with one condition, no merchandising.
00:13:46
Speaker
Um, And that became a joke in the movie, of course. um In the 90s, going into the 90s, he's in his 70s at that point, going into his 70s. He had a lot of flunks. He had Life Stinks, which is kind of a spoof on homelessness, which does not hit the hit did not hit the consumer market well. Robin Hood Men in Tights, another one of his great movies, is one of his last movies.
00:14:12
Speaker
um But da Dracula Dead and Loving It was his last movie. um and not a lot of people liked that movie. um The producers on Broadway, when he brought the producers the film onto Broadway, and I think it won the Tony of the Year and everything, it won a bunch of awards. And that was that was just a great boost in his career in the late 90s, mid 90s. And of course, we mentioned it, the Curb Your Enthusiasm, the whole entire season on Larry David being the star of producers on Broadway. This is one of the third seasons of Curb, something like that. um In 2004 season, yeah. Which is great. That's where I kind of started loving Curb. um And then it talks a lot about his wife, Anne Bancroft, passing away and what that did to him. um and And creating a deep friendship because carl cro Carl Reiner's wife died around the same time and then became deep friends. And then when he passed in 2020, which he actually witnessed him dying, um that was a tremendous a heartache to him.
00:15:11
Speaker
and To the point where he would show up to Carl Reiner's house after Carl died, he would just have dinners there and hang out there. um And the family's oh, just take your time. Come here every night um and and just let us know when you're ready and we'll sell the house. They didn't sell the house. he Just let him come every night to kind of give him peace. um And, of course, his last thing, probably what he's going to be known for. It's Spaceballs 2. He's in the middle of post-production right now. he's He helped write it. He helped produce it. It's all done filming, so it's his last creation.
00:15:44
Speaker
Spaceballs 2. He did an animated series about almost 20 years ago, which is not good. But Spaceballs 2, the movie, hopefully Search for More Money will be his last production. Great documentary. Great career. There's a lot of movies that a lot of movies in his catalog I have not seen, like Silent Movie and High Anxiety, which I definitely am going to be watching. um But yeah, great

documentary. Another great documentary you brought to my attention a couple weeks ago. This is on Netflix. and it's Very good documentary.
00:16:17
Speaker
very good short documentary called Secret Mal Apartment. um This happened back in produced by Jesse Eisenberg, Lex Luthor himself. um It's about this group of artists. This is a very hippie like documentary, a group of artists who take over a secret room in a mall in Rhode Island.
00:16:39
Speaker
And they lived there for four years without anybody knowing they have the secret entrances. They have ways of getting they find ways of bringing furniture and furnishing the place. They have extension cords in there so they can have power. They bring this huge, and huge like, curio cabinet in there to keep glasses and shit. i don't know how the hell they did this. They had to bring it up like a ladder. I was wondering how they got the hutch in the apartment because those things are fucking heavy shit. very heavy. yeah It's all glass. Yeah, I have no idea. but they But they did, and they had pictures of it. They had video of it up until a point. They were taking video...
00:17:13
Speaker
i don't I don't know how they figured it out to take video of everything, but that's what the documentary basically was, is video them as kids walking through the mall, talking about what they're going to do in this secret apartment. And he had ambitions to live there forever, and he was going to get mail delivered there. He was going to get power and electricity and everything put into the secret apartment. And then he got found out. the the They got found out by a bunch a bunch of fuck-ups, and security ended up finding the apartment while he was inside of it one day. And they got found and he i think he got a arrested for trespassing and and prosecuted and everything. He's still doing art now. He does these weird like masking tape art pieces. He does them for hospitals, which is weird. But they're artists. This is a very art art-centric document documentary. Hippie-like, very much modern-day hippie-like documentary. But it's very good. This is on Netflix right now.
00:18:04
Speaker
um think about hour and 40 minutes, maybe the hour and a half. I can't remember. Not long. Not long at all. um But it's very, very good. Um, and you, you watched the movie and we both watched the movie. I saw that you watched this last night and I added it to my list and I watched it this morning. Um, but the first one, good the first one is send help. And I've, I remember seeing this trailer a couple of weeks, um, a couple of months ago. And i saw this movie looks interesting. Um, and I'm not really a big, big, huge fan of what's her name there. Um, the stars in it, um, um She's fucking fantastic in this movie.
00:18:35
Speaker
Yeah, but she looked great in the trailer. I'm blanking on her name, too. But the movie's called what movie is called Send Help, produced by Sam Raimi. And he's been talking a lot about that this week.
00:18:46
Speaker
But yeah, how was it? Fucking awesome. Nice. Sam Raimi's a master of suspense and... um Yeah, he he has not lost his fastball.
00:18:59
Speaker
This movie, um it's kind of horror-ish. I'd say it's more of a thriller. um But definitely some horror aspects to it, which is basically what a thriller is anyways. um But yeah, this group flies to... What is trying to fly to South Asia or something? And they're plane crashes, and two of them wash up ashore on an island.
00:19:20
Speaker
And... um From there, the story takes a bunch of twists and turns. um I wrote on Letterboxd that it's like the Survivor TV show meets the movie Misery.
00:19:33
Speaker
Okay. It's essentially what this movie is. Yep. And I cannot wait to watch it again. um Nice. The sound was insane. I got it... I did the ah RPX. Was RPX always $5 extra or was it like $3 extra back then? It's been $5. It's been $5 for a while. Okay, it's been $5. It's been a long time since I got RPX seats, so...
00:19:51
Speaker
But yeah, it was worth the extra five bucks. It was also worth going to the movies to see if they're doing popcorn buckets for the Melita Trump movie, which I want to talk to you about later. But yeah, send help.
00:20:02
Speaker
Go see it.

Remakes and New Series

00:20:03
Speaker
um It's fantastic. I didn't have the urge to like look at my watch, check the time. like Once throughout the movie, I just was having such a good time. And it was only like me and like one other person in the theater.
00:20:14
Speaker
So... yeah yeah that figures but yeah it does look good and i cannot wait to watch that we'll talk about it again when that uh when that comes out um and another movie i added to the plex yesterday um came out on digital this week anaconda the remake with uh paul rudd jack black now before you get into it i have to ask you what's your relationship to the original anaconda movie i haven't seen it in 20 years Okay, I used to watch that movie.
00:20:45
Speaker
That was like the first like bad movie that I like absolutely fell in love with. um I used to watch it. I've probably seen it a hundred times in my lifetime. I also effort have not seen it probably since had the DVDs, so probably like 2010 maybe.
00:20:59
Speaker
Okay. 2008, whatever, before Blu-ray started becoming a thing, probably was the last time I saw it. um But yeah, I used to absolutely love this movie. And don't know if you saw my Letterboxd review, but I absolutely loved the remake too. As fucking terrible as it is. It's literally fucking awful.
00:21:15
Speaker
um But I loved every single second. I did not i had a smile on my face the entire time I watched it. Now I want your thoughts. It had funny moments, but the movie was fucking trash.
00:21:25
Speaker
It was so bad. But i I loved every second of it. I loved i enjoyed every single second of Frass. Standout in this movie, which is a standout in a lot of movies he's in and Steve Zahn. was going to say, yep, Steve Zahn.
00:21:39
Speaker
He is this is all incredible in every movie he's in. It's like the new Saving Silverman for me because that movie wasn't very good either. and both of them Both of them were in that too. yeah Jack Black and him. yeah they have They all have such good chemistry together. um Paul Rudd is also great with them.
00:21:53
Speaker
um yeah The three of them with their chemistry and Yeah. Oh, so corny, though. The the jokes, everything. So bad. bad. It's so bad. like I had it at like a two and a half, and then I was like, I bumped this up to a four because I enjoyed it so much. that's a three it's a three It's a three for me. but yeah But the best part about this, which I don't think it's too much of a spoiler because it's everywhere. There's two great cameos from the original Anaconda in this. Yes.
00:22:18
Speaker
The first one is in the trailer, and that's Ice Cube. um And he shows up there. the The premise is basically, if you don't know, they're they're remaking Paul Rudd says that he or Jack Paul Rudd says he has the rights to Anaconda.
00:22:34
Speaker
I don't know he would get those, but sure. come to find out he doesn't wellll we'll spoil that um and sonny's making another remake with ice cuban they end up running into each other when they're running away from this giant anaconda in the woods they're filming over there for some reason Both, both, who knows? But Ice Cube does show up in the movie. At the and very end, after credits scene, I'm going to spoil it, but skip 30 seconds if you don't want to know. In the kind of the post credits, after, before credits scene, Jack Black opens the door and J-Lo shows up, who was a part of the first Anaconda movie as well, tell telling, jack asking Jack Black to direct ah the remake of Anaconda that she's going to starring in.
00:23:16
Speaker
It doesn't make any sense, but yeah, three out of three out of five for me. had some funny moments. I bumped it up because I enjoyed it so much. The nostalgia for you, that makes sense. like I get that, but for me, no. There was no nostalgia. right It was just trash. but There were some funny moments. think Steve's on i think steve son Jack Black. and then Also, the other thing, I think this movie would have done better if it was rated R. I think they could have upped the ante a lot more. yeah It was PG-13.
00:23:46
Speaker
Two shows we're going to talk about. um One is a Marvel show. MCU is back this week. And that is Wonder Man. Lots of feelings on Wonder Man. this The whole entire series aired this week. All eight episodes at once.
00:24:04
Speaker
um i understand why I understand why Marvel's doing that. They're kind of testing the waters on their TV shows. as They've had a lot of failures. They've had a lot of failing TV shows and they're trying to figure try to figure it out. Ironheart came out like two episodes every every day or or every week or something like that or three episodes every week.
00:24:23
Speaker
Is that what they I think it was two batches of three, wasn't it? Yeah, maybe that's what was. didn't even watch that shit. Ironheart was better than this. No, this is better than that. Up to a point. This took a trip at the end.
00:24:35
Speaker
Yeah, it did. Yeah, I agree. um But it did have a lot of great parts to it. MCU canon. Joey Pants. Joey Pants and Leono. Part of this series. Yes. Part of the MCU as an actor, as himself. Yes.
00:24:49
Speaker
Christopher Nolan. They mention him. They mention, what's his name? Paul Thomas Anderson. They mention a but bunch of directors, bunch of actors. Josh Gad, part of the show in episode four or five, the Doorman episode, which is the best episode of the series. Doorman, I did not expect a character from the Great Lakes Avengers to be so great, especially in this episode, best episode of the series.
00:25:15
Speaker
But Doorman... being part of this show means that we're probably going to be getting another NWO style entrance for another team. But this is a team I actually want to see.
00:25:27
Speaker
Great Lakes Avengers probably has the most chance of, if they're going do any, besides the Young Adventures, which they've done every character pretty much from that team, Great Lakes Avengers has ah has a chance of being a movie or a TV show next. um only because you got doorman you got squirrel girl which is and huge in comic books everybody loves squirrel girl plus you got dare you got dead poolol deadpool deadpool a part of that team would be great um it's run by hawk hawkeye and uh mocking mocking bird but um i'm not sure if hawk hawkeye would be a part of that but hawkeye season two i can see it happening great lakes avengers i can see that turning up um

Eric Williams, his brother, Wonder Man's brother, he ends up becoming the Grim Reaper, who is a Marvel villain from way back in the day, from know how long he's been around, but he's been villain for a while, and he's kind of a villain in this, too. He's the brother of Simon, who kind of gives him shit throughout the whole entire series, up until the end. He's his big brother, trying to protect him. Overall, like you said, there was a little bit of dip, and the dip is because...
00:26:35
Speaker
The show is great. it's a It's a non-superhero show. It's that an in-depth character building up until a point. It's so much better than all these weird superhero tropes we'd be getting in the TV shows that Marvel's come out with. um And not to mention the soundtrack in this was great as well. wanted to mention that. But where it fell off is where the superhero stuff target started taking place. um Towards the end. and i And I kind of figured that you would feel the same way about this.
00:27:03
Speaker
um Because the character dynamics between Simon and Trevor, who comes back... What's his name? Who plays Trevor Slattery. um I can't think of his name off top of my head. Same.
00:27:15
Speaker
Yeah. ah But he's a renowned actor. I don't remember his name. That'll hurt me later. But... um Their character interactions between between the two of them this this season has been was great.
00:27:30
Speaker
um Did not expect that, to find this duo, a pair, going through this whole entire series being great, but they were... But where it fell off is where the superhero stuff target started taking over. um Especially at the end where, spoiler, Simon, Trevor gets arrested because he takes over the the Mandarin monocle, mo well, mannequin persona again to try to save Simon. And Simon goes in, Wonder Man goes into jail to break him out and flies out of the jail with holding him and they go off into the sunset somewhere.
00:28:05
Speaker
um setting up who knows what i don't know if there will be a second season to this i don't know but simon has to show up somewhere he's one of the most powerful mutants don't even they didn't even mention him he's a mutant um but he's one of the most powerful mutants in the mcu now um right up there with scarlet witch he has uh yes um He has some really cool powerful powers, manipulating pat manipulative powers. Dormian, great character, also sets up the Roxxon Corporation.
00:28:35
Speaker
Also brings in Cloak and Dagger because the power that he gets from the trash can. is the Dark Power, is the I think I have it here, what it's actually called, the Dark Force. in in the It was in the show Cloak and Dagger, was in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., it was in Agent Carter, but the Dark Force, Dark Matter, Zero Matter, whatever you want to call it, that he absorbs that into him and he starts to he starts to be able to make portals, Dormen. But overall, probably 7.5 out of 10 what you gave it, I think i saw. That's what I gave it, yeah. You were 7 or 7.5. Which would be equivalent and like 4 out of 5 for me. It was a great series. And I think...
00:29:17
Speaker
3 out of 5 probably for me. That works. Yeah. 3.5, sorry. 3.5 out of 5 for me. Yeah. But overall, overall i was I was impressed with it. Josh Gad is now missing in the MCU, which is great. um I want to see this character again, though. I really do want to see Wonder Man. I want to see i want to see where it's going. I don't know if there will be a second season of this or...
00:29:41
Speaker
He'll be in a Marvel movie or a team up. I mean, he's part of the West Coast Avengers, which has been teased before. um Maybe part of it could be a part of the next Wakanda adventure. Who knows? But yeah, great series. And we saw another series come back shrinking season three.

'Shrinking' Season 3 Review

00:30:00
Speaker
um this it was great. so It was awesome. It was great. Harrison Ford, of course, in the show has Parkinson's. So in the very beginning of this episode, they bring in Michael J. Fox to kind of work off of him. um There's a lot of heart in this show.
00:30:16
Speaker
Probably the most out of everything. anythinglthough We talk about Ted Lasso. I love Ted Lasso so much. There's more heart in this show because of the interactions that he has with Jason Segel being in Parkinson's, dealing with that and having us Jason Segel kind of becoming his friend slash therapist throughout the series has been great. um The acting in this, the whole entire ensemble, the cast is great. From the kids to the adults and everybody in between. Jason Segel's great in this. And this week it was renewed for season 4.
00:30:47
Speaker
Before the episode up even aired on Wednesday or Tuesday night. um So yeah, it's ah it's a great series. If you have not watched Shrinking, it's on Apple TV. Just started and it's going end in April. It's to 10 episodes.
00:31:00
Speaker
All throughout the harsh of harshness of winter, you can watch this to get you to get you to spring. But it's ah it's a great series. This is on the third season, and they're already picking up for a fourth. So I think the original idea was to end on the third season, but it's so popular, and it's everybody loves the show. I'm not surprised they get picked up picked up for another season. And they also mentioned this week. I think I have it in the news. We'll wait for that. but um Speaking of news, let's get into it.

Upcoming Trailers and Releases

00:31:37
Speaker
And it's not a new time of the trailer roundup.
00:31:41
Speaker
A couple of trailers. First one we're gonna talk about is Super Mario Galaxy Movie. um Love the first movie. There's a lot of cool stuff in this movie trailer as well.
00:31:53
Speaker
Comes out on April 1st. We saw Birdo from Super Mario 2. We saw a lot of characters. a lot of lot of Of course, the debut of Yoshi, which was awesome. I love Yoshi, mario Super Mario World. uh i fell in love with it when i was older i played it when i was younger but i didn't have the attention span for it and i finally beat it when i finally beat it in my 20s but uh great game damn yep um and uh yeah joshi being a part of it it's going to be the humor and it's going to sell all the actual figures and all the toys and the plushies so yeah looked good um
00:32:28
Speaker
Trailer for Paradise Season 2. I love Paradise Season 1. Comes back on Hulu on February 23rd. By the way, Hulu is ending sometime this year. Is Hulu going to merge into Disney Plus and become like a premium Disney Plus? Like, how the fuck are they going to do that?
00:32:44
Speaker
I don't know. I hope so. They're going to get rid of the app. I know that. That's that's the plan. Because they've already merged it into the Disney Plus app. Same with ESPN. You can In fact, we watch Royal Rumble this weekend, you can watch it right on the Disney Plus app, which is great. You don't have to have three different apps. But I wonder if going change Hulu or change the name it to the Disney Plus Premium like they did with Showtime or with a Paramount. But yeah, paraddox Paradise Season 2. If you don't know the story, I mean, it's around now. But the first season, they're in a dome.
00:33:15
Speaker
um The apocalypse has happened. Something's happened on Earth. We still don't know what the mystery is. And the president and a whole bunch of staff and a whole bunch of other figures of prominence in America go under this mountain and they create an undermountain dome. And they're all living under there. And you find out slowly through the season that there's a dome there. And by the end of the season, Sterling K. Brown, who's a star of this, I think that's his name, right? yeah Yeah.
00:33:42
Speaker
He ends up so escaping in the dome to try to find his wife who's been lost. um he He thinks she' she's still alive. um and That's what the second season picks up on him outside of the dome trying to find her. um Interesting. um James Marston, who plays Cyclops in the X-Men movies, is is a part of this. He plays the president. It's a great series and definitely going to catch that up weekly. comes out February 23rd, so we'll talk about that. um DTF St. Louis. This stars Jason Bateman and David Harbour. Comes out March 1st on HBO Max. um Didn't know anything about it until the trailer this week, but it looked funny. looked ah looked dramatic and a little bit of humor in there too. I love Jason Bateman. I love David Harbour. Them working together, working off of each other. it' looked interesting, so may talk about that when it comes out. We'll see.
00:34:32
Speaker
um But the big trailer to talk about this week is an old trailer that debuted, I think, New York Comic Con, but they released it to everybody this week, was Daredevil Born Again Season 2, with an official date of March 24th when that begins airing.
00:34:46
Speaker
um Cannot wait for that. I love the first season. I love Daredevil, of course, on the Netflix the netflix series. i Cannot wait to see what they do with this. Mayor Fisks and all that, going to be good.
00:34:59
Speaker
Cannot wait. Box office last week, Mercy, $11.2 million. The movie did not get a lot of good reviews, so I don't know. nope um Avatar, Fire, and Action is sixth week, number two, for so with $7 million. And Zootopia 2, $5.7 million. So, yeah, we're in the middle of winter. Bad storms last weekend. Box office wasn't huge. Understandably. Yep.
00:35:21
Speaker
Before we came on today, right as I woke up, I saw the breaking news of Catherine O'Hara. She passed away today. um The only thing they said is medical emergency. 911 call was answered and she couldn't she had a hard time breathing. That's all I saw before we came on today. i think I think they said cancer. but She's been at Sinai in Toronto being treated for cancer for the last couple of months. Okay. I was kind of figuring 71 years old. For that for for her, that's that's young. 71's kind of young. um But she's been in a ton of stuff. and and And she's like the mother of our childhood. um
00:35:57
Speaker
We're talking Home Alone. But she got her start on SCTV. We didn't really watch that much. I love it now. Going back and watching clips of it. But Home Alone was... I mean, she was Kevin's mother. i mean, that was like...
00:36:11
Speaker
Losing Kevin and going back home and riding in the bus with John Candy and riding the back of the truck with John Candy. Iconic in our childhood. Yep. Every Christmas iconic. That's how that's how iconic that is. um been um There are children that haven't even taken their first breath when she took her last breath. That'll grow up on her and home alone and probably watch it every year. You are dead on that.
00:36:34
Speaker
you are dead on on that um nightmare Nightmare Before Christmas. She played Sally in that. That's a huge role. yeah That's our biggest role. um ah Best in the show. She did a lot of first Christopher Guest movies, those those improv movies because she's she came from SCTV, so she's a big improver. um and schitt's creek recently that show was huge um and she's done other she did last of us this year last year in season two and she did the studio that's her last acting thing unless she's done something in the last year the studio was the last thing she was in main as a main character yeah studio and uh last of us came out around the same time right yeah or studio was more summer studio summer yeah yeah
00:37:17
Speaker
Pedro Pascal said, oh jean oh, genius to be near you, eternally grateful. There's less light in the world. This lucky world that we had you will keep you always, always. The one and only Catherine O'Hara. And of course, Macaulay Culkin, who...
00:37:32
Speaker
Catherine O'Hara was a mother on TV, but had been a mother to him growing up as well. um Made a statement as well. Mama, I thought we had time. I wanted more. I wanted to sit in a chair next to you. I heard you, but I had so much more to say. I love you. I'll see you later. And of course, um I think he got a star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame not too long ago that she actually took a part of. i think it was beginning a last year, end of last year. I can't remember when it was, but. God, rest in peace to Catherine

Catherine O'Hara Tribute

00:38:00
Speaker
O'Hara.
00:38:00
Speaker
I think first major death of the year. Yeah, first major death, Hollywood death of the year. That's something that hit the hot. Crazy, i saw it I saw it in our group chat before I even saw it on Twitter. I was scrolling Twitter at the time that I saw Justin's message.
00:38:12
Speaker
I saw it pop up too and I started doing the research and adding it to the podcast for today. but um CinemaCon. just Somber sober to CinemaCon. Don't like that, but we're doing it. CinemaCon's schedule has been revealed. This comes out in April. April 13th, Sony Pictures. April 14th, Warner Brothers. April 15th, Universal. And Paramount coming April 16th in Disney as well. CinemaCon is kind of the start of movie season where you see new posters, when you see new trailers. um so yeah they show films yeah they show films they might show supergirl who knows yeah we'll have to wait and see um kanye west we have a lot of we have a lot of opinions on kanye um but he did take out an ad in the wall street journal this week i don't know if he's changed his medication i know he's got a new therapist but he's apologized for everything he said in the last couple of years and the songs about heil hitler and everything that he's done he's kind of apologized for um and putting it up knocking it up to finding that he has some sort of a brain brain damage
00:39:21
Speaker
from the car accident he was in back in 2002 2003 whenever that happened um of course so you know through the wire that song was all about that and he he he recorded that with wire his mouth wired shut um but he's apologized to the jewish community to the black community for all the stuff he was saying kind of his manic episodes um if that's the case then Good on him, but he's also coming out saying, because a lot of people are saying that it's a publicity stunt because he's got new music coming

Kanye West's Apology Discussion

00:39:50
Speaker
out. He said, no, that's not the case. I just felt i just felt this negativity in my life that I needed to get off my chest and apologize. um
00:39:58
Speaker
He said a lot of crazy shit in the last 20 years, so it's hard divide. He made song called Heil Hitler. Right. It's to divide that. don't know if there's any coming back from that. like It's funny. there' already He sold swastika shirts.
00:40:10
Speaker
It's funny you say that, but he's got some of the biggest albums ever in hip-hop. It's insane, I know. He's got he's got my album. was the one that told you it was going to be great. He's got my favorite album ever recorded in hip-hop.
00:40:22
Speaker
college dropout first one okay the college dropout is blueprint but college dropout is close college dropout yeah college dropout is number one for me and it's it's hard to it's it's kind of like we talk about michael jackson and all those allegations we talk about r kelly you may not be a big fan of r kelly but there's a lot of great songs on that catalog um I don't even want to get into the k Chris Benoit stuff because that's, that's, that's, that's hard to watch hard even comprehend, but it's, it's hard to divide the artist from the art, from the, from the stuff that he does behind the scenes or does in real life. Um, but Kanye apologizing is a good step, I guess. Um, I do love his music. Even now I i love, I know a lot of people fell off. I know you have too of his music and more modern time, but I like a lot of his music. I like, I like his artistry. like his sound.
00:41:13
Speaker
um And I hope that maybe this is a good step forward. Who knows? I hope it's not plea to just ah make but publicity better for him. but to ah To be fair, fallen off a lot of um new music in general. I listen to old stuff. um New hip-hop annoys me. um So in general, I don't listen to a lot of new rap. And know, a lot of the new hip-hop, we can blame him for, too, for the mumble. yeah Yeah. He hired all those guys to be to be part of his... like what one no know that The Yeezus album.
00:41:48
Speaker
he had He had Young Thug and all those other guys be a part of the production and writing of that album. Mm-hmm. And they're all big now and all the mumble rap and shit that we can talk hours on how crappy it is. But um yeah, who knows? i hope he I hope he's being legitimate about that. Sincere, yeah.
00:42:04
Speaker
Sincere, yeah. got to turn i gotta to ah get my brother-in-law's thoughts on this as he is Jewish himself. And he probably doesn't believe a thing Kanye says. he's He's talked a lot of shit about black people too.
00:42:16
Speaker
Exactly. He's like a self-hating... Yeah, I don't know. yeah um Looney Tunes. um Of course, owned by Warner Brothers. They took them off of HBO Max and everything. um But they're going to on Turner Classic Movies, the network, going forward. It's going to be the television home. Nice. um If you remember during the merger, the merger talk of Netflix, Netflix is going to own that soon.
00:42:40
Speaker
um So I know that's going to be the only network I think that Warner Brothers owns. The only cable network network they own is Turner Classic Movies. And they're going to actually, Netflix is going to be owning that. So I bet you eventually when that whole whole merger ends, I think Netflix is going to be the home of Looney Tunes eventually. But for now, that's that's the whole lot library of Looney Tunes is going to be on going on Turner Classic Movies.
00:43:01
Speaker
Interesting. um Ted Lasso, season four. was announced this week coming out this summer. have some new pictures for that. and of course, Ted Lasso is going to be coaching a women's soccer team over overseas.
00:43:16
Speaker
That's what the season going forward is going to be. um That was hinted to at the end of the last season. so Cannot wait. i love like I love Ted Lasso. I cannot wait. ah Speaking of Ted Lasso, Phil Dunster, who played Jamie Tart in that, um is not coming back for that series. But he has been cast in How to Train Your Dragon, in the sequel. He's going playing one of the characters in that.
00:43:38
Speaker
Love Jamie Tart. Sad that he's not going to part of that. Speaking of casting, Manny Batinkin, who was in Princess Bride, who was in the NCIS or one of those shows, um joins the God of War series on Amazon as Odin.
00:43:53
Speaker
I love Manny Patinkin and Princess Bride. I don't know much about the God of War video game series, but I know they're doing they're doing Thor and Odin and all that stuff, so he's going to be playing Odin. Exciting.
00:44:06
Speaker
um A new documentary on the Red Hot Chili Peppers coming out on March 20th on Netflix. It's a film that's going to be providing rare intimate glimpse of the rock music forced behind ah Under the Bridge, California Cation, all those songs of the ninety s late 90s.
00:44:21
Speaker
like Like Chili Peppers back in the day. You may watch that. may talk about it. but yep yep um And I saw this. I wanted to talk about it. I didn't put it in the trailers because I wanted to talk about it in depth. But Darren Aronofsky has this new AI animated series coming out called On This Day 1976. It tells short story narratives throughout the Revolutionary War. But it uses AI tools. An AI video made by Google DeepMind.com.
00:44:50
Speaker
And it has SAG voice actors part of it. So all the all the visuals, I don't know if you saw the trailer to this, all the visuals are of animated through AI. AI videos of like George Washington crossing the Delaware and people getting shot in front of Boston, Boston, the Boston massacre and all this and that very interesting, weird thing. And the trail looks strange, but it's just weird to see like a George Washington, AI walking around like a real human being. This, I don't know when this comes out, but the trailer came out and I'm going to keep an eye on this and probably talk about it on the podcast when it comes out. Darren Aronofsky being a part of it is interesting.
00:45:27
Speaker
i've Also announced this week, a comic book series, Sex Criminals. um In the works for a TV series on Amazon Prime, um with Kumail Nanjami to star and his wife and him producing it, the series follows a couple who have the ability to stop time when they have sex. I love time travel fuckery. This is the definition of time travel fuckery.
00:45:50
Speaker
Subsequently, using their powers to rob banks. Very interesting. I think I have a picture of the... done by Matt Fraction. So this book was written by Chip and Fraction and Chip Zdorsky, who is one of the best writers Daredevil has ever had.
00:46:04
Speaker
I might have to check this comic out in general just to see what it's like, because I like both of their work, so. Yeah, I love Matt Fraction, and I and i like ah Chip, too, because he did those ones I want to read. the um the the The year, the what was that called?
00:46:22
Speaker
but They had the fat Fantastic Four one, the Spider-Man one, where they go from the 60s to the 90s, showing them year by year. They had ah like six issues each. yeah i wonder I wanted to read them for the podcast. I can't remember what the name of them are, but he did that, too. um Yeah, i make keep keep an art keep our eye on that series. We'll talk about it when we know more. um And Apple has landed the rights. I have no idea what this is. I'm going to let you lead on this. I have never heard of it. um Apple landed the rights to Mistborn and the Stormlight Archive.
00:46:50
Speaker
yeah I don't know anything about these until this week. So, Brandon Sanderson... is a goddamn madman when comes to writing. um Okay. This dude wrote 11 books in the year 2020. Wow. 11 books. um Not all of them have been published. Some of them put on the back burner or whatever, he wrote 11 books. um But he started doing the Stormlight Archive, um which is what I jumped into, which um if you're going to read Brendan Sanderson,
00:47:17
Speaker
brendan sanderson Do not start with the Stormlight Archive. Start with Mistborn. But they are very, very high fantasy. Like, I got halfway through Stormlight, the first book, and I didn't know what the fuck was going on. Like, I had no idea.
00:47:32
Speaker
Because apparently they all, like, towards the end of the book, all the stories, like, come together. I just had no idea what was going on. Like, all the lingo is, like, stuff that, like, Adam would, like, absolutely, like, understand. But, like, I'm reading it, like, the only fantasy stuff I've read is Game of Thrones. And that's very low fantasy. Like, there is very little. It's it's like like warging and dragons, basically, is what Game of Thrones fantasy goes to.
00:47:56
Speaker
um But he is... one of the most popular people in the the fantasy realm. He also finished the book of time series when the author died.
00:48:07
Speaker
And people wanted him to finish George's Game of Thrones because they're like, he's never going to finish them anyways. And George was like, no, that's not going to happen. um But yeah, it's exciting news for anybody that's into fantasy. And the fact that it's going to be on Apple TV versus any other streaming service is what gives me the most hope because of the quality, everything they do. And Sanderson is writing. Right.
00:48:29
Speaker
on every project, which is insane. Like Martin did at first, but like Sanderson will be leading this as the creative of this. Like he will be the showrunner. That's unheard of for a creator to be a part of the series that in depth, that that's what that let's, that's what gives a lot of hope to fantasy lovers for this series. Basically.
00:48:48
Speaker
I mean, it's basically what, uh, what's his name does for Paramount with, uh, 1923, Yellowstone, all that stuff. Um, yeah he's basically doing that, but with his own work, um, So I am really looking forward to this. Mistborn is going to be a trilogy of movies. And Stormlight will be a series on TV.
00:49:05
Speaker
So really looking forward to all of this. And Henry Cavill has been in talks with Sanderson for, like, I've heard, like, four years trying to, like... get a role and like the joke going around is that he wants to be kaladin because that's like the main star but kaladin's 19 years old and asian um okay but there is a character in there that looks as he's described looks exactly like henry cavill so if he ends up here i believe that would probably be the role dollaker or dolliner or something like that i believe the character's name is um yeah i'm just excited for more fantasy to get into more fantasy stuff um some stuff i love some stuff i just appreciate like i love game of thrones i appreciate um lord of the rings the lord of the rings um and the tv shows and movies from that series but uh really looking forward to this um awesome yeah yeah i can't wait to hear i love hearing stuff like that especially when the creator is in control of it It gives you a little hope of what it's going to be. What's going to end up being. Dirty Dancing 2. Moving forward, Jennifer Grey reprising her role. I'm filming sometime later this year.
00:50:08
Speaker
i don't know. I think we're about 20 years too late for that, especially with Patrick Swayze being gone. um He was the best part of that movie. um I love that first movie, but I never saw the second one. It's classic.
00:50:20
Speaker
Yeah, classic movie. Speaking of classics, I play Rocky. Coming out November 20th of this year. This is the this is the rocky making of Rocky. I thought it was a TV show. It's a film. And they they they've cast a young guy to play Sylvester Stallone. he's the guy from Black Adam. Also the guy from, I believe believe he is in...
00:50:44
Speaker
The Offer. He played Sylvester Stallone in that too. Yes. Or he played Al Pacino in that. Yes. But it's coming out the 50th anniversary of the Rocky movie on November 20th of this year. So interesting to iss her interesting timing.
00:50:59
Speaker
um Speaking of Stallone. Oh, this is the one with the kid from Black Adam. Never mind. Yeah, this is the one with the kid from Black Adam. Go on. Okay. First poster from Rambo. It's a prequel to, of course, First Blood, um directed by the guy who did Sisu. I know the movie. I've never seen it. um and direct And produced by the Russo brothers, but that's the first poster were holding up the dog tags. um Yeah, we'll have to wait and see. i only the only one I've seen in the Rainbow universe is First Blood, and I know after that it becomes action heavy. I know it's more psychological the first one. The only one you've seen?
00:51:34
Speaker
I've only seen First Blood, yeah. better ah they're I like the newer ones, to be honest. They're super fun. um Like, the last one was basically Home Alone, but with Rambo doing all the traps, so everybody gets really fucked up. It's a lot of fun. um Diane Lane has been cast in Mike Flanagan's Exorcist movie with Scarlett Johansson. That was announced this week.
00:51:56
Speaker
um Announced today, Diesel announced that the next fifth Fast and Furious movie comes out March 17th of 2028. Two years, a little over two years from now. um It's going be titled Fast Forever. um He wrote on social media, No one said the road would be easy, but it's ours. One that has defined us and become our legacy. And a legacy lasts forever. Dun, dun, dun. Comes out in the spring of 2028. I know those movies are huge. I've seen up to the fifth one, maybe. They're okay.
00:52:26
Speaker
They're not great movies. The fifth one's really good. That's the one with The Rock first appears, I believe. um if I know if I've even seen that one. Maybe i haven't seen that one. That's the fifth one is the one where Rock appears, which is a fucking fantastic film.
00:52:39
Speaker
Um, they have it five, six, and seven are all good. And I haven't, eight is trash. I haven't seen nine or 10. this 11 is this 10? or is this eleven That's 11, I guess. Yeah. Okay. so And I haven't seen the spinoff with the rock and Jason Statham either. I haven't seen that either. mean, no, I'm far behind on that, but yeah, comes out as 20, 28. Um, and speaking Henry Cavill earlier, We got the first glimpses of him in Highlander started filming this week or started doing, guess, shooting forward of some, some sort of, don't know if they're just portraits or what. So I think this could be, if Henry Cavill, who really hasn't produced tons of the box office, um, outside of big IP, which is mission impossible and Superman, of course.
00:53:28
Speaker
Yeah. Um, this will be a sign of whether he can actually be a movie star or not, which is weird to say, because he's been in Hollywood since 2002. Um, cause if he can't do well with the director of John Wick directing a Highlander movie, which is already a very popular cult movie, right?
00:53:46
Speaker
Could be tough going forward for him, but he still has a, the Warhammer series, which I'm looking forward to. his next movie is Voltron too. And that has a huge following in the 70s. So we'll have to wait and see.
00:53:58
Speaker
um And today, we actually within this last week, we got the first glimpses of the cast of the Beatles movie. um They put out these weird postcards. They released them some in some museum overseas. And then today, the official Beatles and I think Sony released all the official looks of them. We have Paul Muscal looking like Paul McCartney, which is incredible if you know what he actually looks like. And Barry Coogan looks like Ringo Starr back in the 70s, late 60s. Harris Dickinson, who was in the Iron Claw. He played one of the Vaughn Ericks. He's John Lennon. And Joseph Quinn as George Harrison, my favorite Beatle. I cannot wait for this set of movies. It's going to be called The Beatles. Sam Mendes is directing them, and there's going be four interconnecting movies released around the same time in April of 2027, I think. It'll interesting to see Barry Keegan in a movie where he doesn't drink another man's bathwater.
00:55:00
Speaker
Never saw that. Never saw Salt Burn. Never seen it. Great movie. um Disturbing movie, but great movie. um yeah But Barry Keegan, when he was cast, I was like, that's a very interesting casting. Because he is an exceptional actor, but I've only seen him play like oddball, weird roles. I've never seen him do something that is going to require what he's going to do for this. So that's the movie I'm looking forward to the most. But this is going fun set of movies, I hope.
00:55:25
Speaker
Interesting way of tackling it. I'm very excited to see how it turns Yes, very interesting. yeah Announced this week, I think these are the best covers covers that WWE has ever came out with for a game. WWE 2K26. We've got four editions we're going to talk about. Attitude Era Edition.
00:55:44
Speaker
understandably you know what that is um it's all about the attitude era monday night war edition this is the 150 version of everything where you get everything from the other version that's it that's the premium one where it's monday night war wcw versus w wwe um and then you get the other versions you get the triple h version the game and then the official cover came out today with cm punk back on the cover for the first time in 12 What was it? twenty It was 2K13. Yep. thirteen yeah um yeah that was he was the last time on the cover, but cover looks awesome. Exclusive, if you pre-order that,
00:56:21
Speaker
You say his name and he appears. The exclusive is Joe Henry. They've got me. They've got me, those bastards. They got me last when I thought Joe Henry, they were rumored that Joe Henry was going to be DLC. So they got me last year, those fucking pricks.
00:56:35
Speaker
But if you pay $150 for this game, you should probably just take a shotgun to your mouth. I haven't bought it yet, but it depends on how. I mean, $150, I mean, yeah, you you haven't been playing them for a few years, so for you would be great investment.
00:56:49
Speaker
But for somebody who's played them, like, recently, like, if you're one of those people that gets it every year and then you're like, I'm going to spend $150 on this, it's like. yeah But, I mean, have to see what that version actually comes with.
00:57:02
Speaker
Because if it, depending on what it comes with, We'll have to see, but... Right. $150 for a fucking w WWE video game? Like, it's not GTA, people.
00:57:13
Speaker
Right. um But that's the new that's the new price point of everything. This is what the this is kind of what's included in 2K26 this year. Punk'd showcase. A whole entire showcase of CM Punk's career. um Joe Henry, a pre-order pack.
00:57:29
Speaker
400 plus playable characters because they're doing all they're going all the way back to WCW. So and in WWE in the war in the 90s. I hope we get some ECW guys in there. Possibly. Maybe we get the probably go ending with the invasion angle. I would guess the Monday Night War edition. An I Quit Inferno match and three stages of hell matches were added. Stackable tables, thumbtacks were added.
00:57:54
Speaker
200 creative superstar slots. Draft is going to be included in the universe, a WWE draft. um Island, I think that was part of the other games too. And motion features for the Switch 2. This is only included in next-gen consoles, not included in PS4, Xbox One. It's all only the x the newer generation. And Switch 2 is one of those, and they're to be motion controls featured.
00:58:15
Speaker
But yeah, CM Punk is the cover star. We got Joe Henry as the bonus. This is everything for us marked We did you have with them. Spending $150, like if I were to buy it for like the characters, I just know that after a month, I'm only going to use my creative player, my creative characters anyways. And just, yeah so I don't know if it'd be worth it for me, but if they do, haven't played $150 version, everything's included.
00:58:38
Speaker
i might actually buy the trick, pull the trigger, not of the shotgun in the mouth, but of the game. Did you know, did you notice the one, ought work that in there did you notice the one omission from the hardcore edition, the attitude era edition?
00:58:52
Speaker
Mick Foley. Mick Foley, yeah. He had it falling out with the WWE, so he's not a part of it. and he was biggest part one of the one of the biggest parts at that time. But he is a part of the game, the Hell in a Cell match. All that stuff is in there. It's going to be interesting to see how they tackle that in the game. He's not part of any of the promotion, of course. we've got some ah popcorn buckets we need to talk about. First one is from Sinners.
00:59:15
Speaker
Sinners' guitar case coming out. AMC exclusive, but usually the AMC stuff. It's been showing up at Regal too, so I don't know what that really means. But it looks awesome. The guitar case from Sinners. And Scream, of course, coming out the end of this month. And we got some new popcorn buckets. We got we got a bloody yes we got a bloody ghost face. and We got another one with him looking like he's in like a glass case.
00:59:37
Speaker
I don't know how that one's going to work. The cup looks cool. But there's a lot of really cool marketing for Scream. Also... Matthew Lillard's coming out with, I believe, a vodka called Ghostface Vodka. And you can get a special edition version box set with the vodka to Ghostface glasses. Yeah, it looks kind of cool if you're a drinker. um And we got some swag.
01:00:01
Speaker
FWAG! Stuff we all get. Come on, son. You that's right. These pop figures look really cool. Godzilla minus one. We got Godzilla swimming. Godzilla with his heat ray. One of the best scenes of that movie. And a little glow-in-the-dark keychain if you want that. We also we also got Silence of the Lamb, Hannibal Lecter, through the glass, which looks awesome. um I wanted to mention this. I haven't seen the final version of it, but they started they started shipping it.
01:00:29
Speaker
There is a Superman figure with all of the villains surrounding him coming out soon. and they just they were showing They've been showing the painting process of everything. I saw this one little quick glimpse of it. but i really hope that we see this full version it's got do it's got lex luther mr mcsixoplex it's got bizarro it's got zod it's got you can see a little bit in the corner left there and you can see doomsday but i can't wait to see that whole diorama and see what it actually has ends up going to be x xm studios is currently doing that so when i see that i'll post it on here we'll talk about it speaking of xm studios i think we talked about a little while ago it's the final absolute superman Iron Studios, sorry. The final picture of that coming out looked awesome.
01:01:13
Speaker
um And Hot Toys announced today, Batman and Robin figures with George Clooney and Chris O'Donnell. Comes with a whole bunch of weapons and batarangs and whole bunch of other stuff. Also comes with the Batman MasterCard from the commercial. Don't leave home without it. um So yeah. um Also, coming out Hallmark,
01:01:36
Speaker
Actually already came out and actually already in my house. Ghostbusters Stay Puft Marshmallow Man um c cups. I saw these online and i ordered them immediately. Came yesterday in the mail. It looks awesome.
01:01:48
Speaker
ah Yeah. Awesome. Hallmark has some great stuff. They have a lot of cool partners, especially with their ornaments. you don't talk about much on here, but their ornaments are awesome. Um, Sam Raimi talking a lot about his movie this week. We're also talking about a lot of people are asking about Spider-Man four. Um, not that yet talking about Spider-Man four, um, asking me if it'll ever come, come to pass or ever be released. And he says, uh, probably won't be resurrected ever again. Peter Parker and MJ have gone elsewhere is what he said. um
01:02:19
Speaker
He's for it if they ever want to do it, but they had their eyes more on Tom Holland right now. Understandably, that's where that's where the universe is at the moment. He was great. No Way Home was great.
01:02:32
Speaker
It'd be kind of cool if they could do it MCU adjacent and just yeah maybe discover Miles. Maybe that's the Spider-Man that discovers Miles and then sends him into the MCU universe or something. Yeah, yeah. yeah um But I'd be all for it because Sam Raimi is goat.
01:02:47
Speaker
I love that guy. Yeah, and yeah that's one of my favorite movies is Spider-Man 2. Even Spider-Man 1 is up there for me too. yeahp um so awesome this leaked yeah overnight i guess today um a lot of pro pictures we've seen of the cast of doomsday in a comic book form i don't know where this came from um the russo brothers are in the top corner kevin feige i believe as well i don't know really who's in those pictures in the top right a top left but a lot of characters we've already seen in the leaks from this uh showing up on this cover
01:03:18
Speaker
A lot of people we already know are part of the cast and and what they already look like. so nothing nothing new here except for dr Doom in the middle bottom. don't know if that's a first look or not, but going mention it now and we'll have to wait and see. And finally in news, I saw this and want to talk about it. Ultraman and Superman. He destroyed an office building.
01:03:40
Speaker
And in that office building um was the makers of Chocos, which is the in-universe version of Oreos in the DC, which is loved by Martian Manhunter. lot of people are speculating that... um James Gunn has been posting behind the scenes look of this this week, speculating that he's getting ready to debut in the manus Man of Tomorrow. I'm not sure about that. He, of course, is not going to mention anything about that or casting that role or not. But, um yeah, he was actually, I guess, nobody really picked up on it until this week that there was actually a there was actually an office with all that stuff on the walls of the of the Oreo-like cookies. Yeah. Interesting. We'll to wait and see. I do like that James Gunn kind of debunks stuff or talks about stuff a lot more than most creators do. He does. He opens his mouth a little bit too much sometimes, but I honestly think he enjoys, I do think he enjoys like trolling people too, because he knows people are going to talk about it.
01:04:36
Speaker
Yeah. what were um That's it for the show this week. We'll we'll be back next week with ah Fallout Season 2, also the finale of that, but also Show & Tell next week as well, in the first of the month. Night of the Seven Kingdoms, Episode 3. Striking, Episode 2.
01:04:52
Speaker

01:05:23
Speaker
going to watch that with with ah sort Sabrina Carpenter in the first episode. Maybe the only episode we'll wait and see. Next month, month of February. On the 13th, good luck, have fun, don't die. That's that time travel movie I want to see. Billy Preston documentary. Billy Preston, that's the way God planned it. Billy Preston had a lot of hands in music in the late 60s, early to late 70s, 80s. lot of drugs in his life. He was part of the Beatles documentary, Let It Be, a couple years ago. um Interesting to see that documentary. I know i don't think it may be in theaters on the 20th. I'll watch it when it comes out. Same with that weekend on the 20th, How to Make a Killing, in the new Glenn Powell movie.
01:06:04
Speaker
um Paradise Season 2 on the 23rd on Hulu. um On the same day on NBC, probably Hulu as well, or on Peacock, um The Fallen Rise of Reggie Dinkins. This is the Tracy Morgan, Daniel Radcliffe TV show.
01:06:17
Speaker

01:06:28
Speaker
um screen seven Comes out. And Man on the Run, paul dot paul ah Paul McCartney documentary, comes out on the same day. so um Lots of stuff to watch next month. Lots of stuff to watch next week. Going to finish Saul, I know, probably this weekend. We'll talk about that next week, possibly. Maybe the next one, depending on how the week goes. um But yeah, busy, chonky week, month coming up.
