Zander Garner: We're both on the cheer team at Indiana Wesleyan University. Randy's kind of like the guy who got me into it, actually. So shout out to him for that. But I'm going into my junior year here, and Randy is...

Zander Garner: There we go. So this is our first episode.
Randy Boone: so this is our first time
Zander Garner: We're just going to run through. kind of is what we're going to talk about and just kind of go from there. We don't really have an agenda for today or a script or anything, so. We'll just kind of get into it.
Randy Boone: Yeah, I love it. Let's get into it.
Zander Garner: Let's make it easy. All right, Randy, what's our first topic?
Randy Boone: really was our first time. Okay, so kind of the inspiration of the name was ahve Between Xander and I, we've had a lot of injuries, but me in particular have had a lot of head injuries, which is why we nicknamed this podcast CTE.
Randy Boone: So one of the things we'll be talking about is our experience with injuries, how we recovered.
Zander Garner: So...
Randy Boone: the mental things we went through. It's kind of. It can be a more serious one or also funny because I have some pretty funny stories of me acting really stupid after a concussion.
Zander Garner: can be a one else
Randy Boone: And yeah, that's kind of the first one we're going to roll out. Yeah.
Zander Garner: Yeah, I think the topic is going to be both serious and funny. Probably more funny on some of the head injuries, but...
Randy Boone: Oh for sure.
Zander Garner: Yeah, I haven't really had any...
Randy Boone: yeah
Zander Garner: like Major Injuries I mean my toe fell off once but that's about it
Randy Boone: so Yeah, a little bit crazy
Zander Garner: Yeah. I was moving a desk at my church actually.
Randy Boone: was church
Zander Garner: I was like 14 and the drawer fell out and I went to go catch the drawer from the desk and just let go of the desk and let it land on my foot while I was barefoot.
Randy Boone: 14.
Zander Garner: And then my toe fell off and I was in the hospital for a few hours.
Randy Boone: and looks took jefferson
Zander Garner: They sewed it back on and then sent me on my way.
Randy Boone: they so back set me on my moment Yeah, that's kind of a crazy one. Yeah, holy cow, I did not know that about you. Not gonna lie.
Zander Garner: Yeah. I don't talk about it very often because I honestly forget it happens sometimes.
Randy Boone: I don't... talk
Zander Garner: And then randomly I'll look down and see a giant scar.
Randy Boone: what else future head to go
Zander Garner: I'm like, oh, where'd that come from?

Randy Boone: While you're on this role, do you want to roll out the injury you currently have, what you're dealing with? and how it happened.

Zander Garner: Come on man!
Randy Boone: I just feel like if if we're making it a comedy show. That's true.
Zander Garner: That's true. Yeah, we could talk about it. Yeah, so...

Zander Garner: Currently I actually tore a tendon in my middle finger on my right hand.
Randy Boone: oh
Zander Garner: And how it happened, I tell everybody volleyball, but it really happened right after volleyball.
Randy Boone: and how it happened i' tell
Zander Garner: We were doing dorm tours, and one of my friends has their bed lofted.
Randy Boone: we're doing or and what
Zander Garner: like Pretty high.
Randy Boone: pretty high
Zander Garner: i mean I'm 6 '3", and it was to my shoulder.
Randy Boone: i i'm six three it to my shoulder so it was pretty high up there Yeah
Zander Garner: So it's pretty high up there. Me being the guy I am, I wanted to.
Randy Boone: meeting being guy
Zander Garner: Jump on top of it.
Randy Boone: chap a
Zander Garner: as one does without using a stool or anything.
Randy Boone: as one us Of course. for Yeah, natural
Zander Garner: Of course, you understand. I did it.
Randy Boone: I did it.
Zander Garner: It was successful.
Randy Boone: It was successful.
Zander Garner: But I slipped on their blanket and landed on my hand instead of just the bed.
Randy Boone: but i sleep on their blanket and live on just then
Zander Garner: And then I jumped down without noticing.
Randy Boone: then top down but that one on
Zander Garner: And my finger was just bent in all different directions.
Randy Boone: and my finger was just betting all different direction it that so big
Zander Garner: It was so bad. It was so weird looking.
Randy Boone: Yeah, that'll do it.
Zander Garner: Yeah, I wasn't going to make that story public, but if we're going comedy, we're going comedy.
Randy Boone: was
Randy Boone: Well, to be honest, we can like cut out certain parts of this or if we need to like, you know what? People don't listen to the first episode. They don't listen to the first episode. This is just you and me. I already knew this story.
Zander Garner: True.
Randy Boone: It's kind of a good to get it rolling.
Zander Garner: I say we leave it in I think it's funny
Randy Boone: Okay, yeah, that's your choice.

Randy Boone: I will say for right now, I'm also just coming off injury and I mine is from a. female's tailbone to the jaw.
Zander Garner: that's such a funny way to say it
Randy Boone: Exactly. Say, you're not in this alone.

Randy Boone: I, yeah, was trying to have my flyer do a backflip. We're going to catch her on our hands, called a rewind. it
Zander Garner: mr
Randy Boone: missed the catch and I took a tailbone to the jaw and Yeah, we recover now. it My vision was off for a little while.
Zander Garner: some
Randy Boone: it I have a bruise on my chin still. That's gotta be one.
Zander Garner: That's gotta be one of the funniest injuries I've ever heard.
Randy Boone: Fuck it.
Zander Garner: Both of us are just...

Zander Garner: I broke it on a bed and you broke it on a cheerleader's tailbone.
Randy Boone: i broke up still Oh. i We could keep going for sure. there I have so many little things that I've done that were just stupid.
Zander Garner: How many concussions have you had?
Randy Boone: Officially 3.
Zander Garner: Unofficially.
Randy Boone: Four to six.
Zander Garner: Cheers dude.
Randy Boone: I'm thinking probably more four, maybe five, because there have been a couple of times where I wasn't quite sure who i was but i was just like we're going to shake it off and
Zander Garner: okay
Randy Boone: Move on. That is my first concussion story. i have no memory of the night that it happened. I don't. And at the time I couldn't tell you my own name based on what my friends told me who were around me that night.
Zander Garner: i could somewhat for around holy crap yeah that's a more serious side to the comedy of some of our injuries
Randy Boone: period side.
Randy Boone: Yeah, it was entertaining though. i try to put my hand through a wall. apparently. Yeah.
Zander Garner: Like you tried to punch through a wall or you just oh
Randy Boone: Yeah. God bless you. I was just... Doing my thing, I guess. I don't know.
Zander Garner: Just had no clue what was going on.
Zander Garner: Well, alright. So Randy's had a lot more injuries than me.
Randy Boone: It's a race.
Zander Garner: I've really only had... Two, and...
Randy Boone: to
Zander Garner: Both involving.

Zander Garner: Yeah, kind of the next topic that we wanted to get into though was... energy drinks i think we were going to go through and rate our like top five energy drinks

Zander Garner: You drink them a lot more than I do.
Randy Boone: o I do drink a lot of energy drinks. I actually have a list of all my favorite energy drinks. That's how much of a connoisseur I am. My list goes to 26 currently.

Zander Garner: I didn't even know there was 26 different energy drinks out there.
Randy Boone: 26 different
Randy Boone: Well... You're about to find out.
Zander Garner: Are you going by flavor or brand?
Randy Boone: Yep. i have done my flavor so that Probably helps a little bit.
Zander Garner: Okay, okay. That adds. Yeah, yeah. So.
Randy Boone: So I'm a rain guy through and through. So I think everyone knows that about me. I need a lot of caffeine throughout my day. So my number one is the Rainbow Sherbert Rain Energy Drink.
Zander Garner: Okay.
Randy Boone: Fantastic. So, so good. I had one yesterday and it was peak life.
Zander Garner: I love that.
Randy Boone: it's actually
Zander Garner: That's actually a really great number one.
Randy Boone: Oh yeah.
Zander Garner: I think rain makes some of the most like.
Randy Boone: brain
Randy Boone: and
Zander Garner: consistently good flavors out of all the energy drink companies.
Randy Boone: I agree. Like they don't do anything crazy. And I like they're less carbonated. So it doesn't.

Randy Boone: like some energy drinks like when they go flat it's like okay it's not as good a rain tastes good from start to finish

Randy Boone: So. Swedish Fish Ghost. is my number five energy drink. That is by far my favorite. I have a heavy heavy sweet tooth. And that that really does it for me.
Randy Boone: Unfortunately, it is discontinued since. a Ghost is rolling out the new

Randy Boone: They tracked his eyes specifically to each spot where that organ would be in their body as he named eyes. liver. pancreas. And he... His eyes track to exactly where that is in the human body.

Randy Boone: but they did that. And that like attention to detail me understanding where he's looking and what was going on.
