As Week 1 of the college football season looms and the question lingers of whether pro players can return to college football, the boys make their stance clear by making their own transition from college football previews to NFL previews. A misleading intro? Quite possibly, but the NFC preview awaits all the same. Bold predictions! Sleepers! Disappointments! and Tiers! All in one preview.

Plus, the Texans traded for Kayshon Boutte, the Rays have approval for a new stadium, Dana Brown is out as the Astros GM, and Folarin Balogun might transfer to Everton. All this and more on this episode of The Coastal Launch Sports Talk!

Episode 30: NFC Preview

***This episode was recorded Sunday night before the mutual parting of ways between the Astros and Dana Brown and before the Texans traded for Kayshon Boutte***

The long dreaded offseason is coming to a close as the boys put the final bow on the college football preview episodes with this, the SEC Preview. The SEC is on a three-year title drought but at the same time has given us some of the most competitive conference matchups we have ever seen. Will this year be much of the same? A conference that can deliver from top to bottom on any given Saturday but doesn't have the top end power to win it all? Or will this be the year the SEC returns to form to reclaim its spot atop the sport.

Also, the Dodgers find themselves in legal troubles, the NCAA is opening itself up to returning NFL players (who thought we would ever say that), and the Texans are trying to adapt to life without Jayden Higgins. All this and more on this episode of The Coastal Launch Sports Talk!

Episode 29: SEC Preview

With only 12 days left until the kickoff of the college football season, the boys tackle the preview of the Big 10 who is looking to defend its three-peat national championship run! What would you even call that? A four-peat, four-fecta, foursome? Nothing fits just quite right, but the Big 10 will attempt it all the same. So who in the Big 10 has the best chance of being that fourth national champion. Will it be a repeat champion? Or a unique fourth champion? Will it be a favorite or a sleeper?

Also, in honor of Jayden Daniels, the first four minutes ONLY were attributed to his latest battle with LSU, the playoff races are heating up as the MLB season winds down, and we begin our new tradition of checking in on the current status of the home run race. All this and more on this episode of The Coastal Launch Sports Talk.

Episode 28: Big 10 Preview

After a few weeks off to give the MLB Trade Deadline the attention it deserved, the boys are turning their attention back to college football previews. With just 19 days remaining till the start of the college football season (at time of recording if you are lucky enough to root for a team playing in week 0), there is some catching up to do if we plan to cover all conferences by the start of the season. For that reason, this is a two conference episode as we preview both the Big 12 and ACC...and beyond that we attempt to debate the question of which conference takes that spot as the third strongest conference in the sport.

Plus, the NFL preseason is underway after the Hall of Fame game between Carolina and Arizona last week, and the Rays and the Astros have carried the vibes of their trade deadline into the week that followed. All this and more on this episode of The Coastal Launch Sports Talk!

Episode 27: Big 12 + ACC Preview

The MLB Trade Deadline has come and gone and it was a doozy. The evil empire got more evil, the Rays got more Ray-y, teams with hope went all in, while others with hope watched it walk out the door. We had it all and we even have accusations of Doncic-like trade behaviors. The boys have been here the last few months to prime you for the Trade Deadline and now they bring you the recap.

Also, attempts to sell FIFA off to private equity were thwarted by the resilience of European soccer fans, the Texans are making waves in training camp, and the Protect College Sports Act finds its feet to move forward. All this and more on this episode of The Coastal Launch Sports Talk!

Episode 26: MLB Trade Deadline Recap + FIFA For Sale

As the SEC threatens to break away from the rest of college football, the boys imagine what that reality would look like...and they look to a shining beacon of hope coming out of Stanford, California. Maybe instead of breaking away, the sport can come together for a better governing model. Plus, the MLB Trade Deadline is mere days away and with only one series remaining before the deadline, we will tell you where we think each team should stand regardless of where they are saying they do stand.

Also, LeBron James joins the Philadelphia 76ers, Macklin Celebrini becomes the highest paid player in the NHL breaking Leo Carlsson's two week chokehold on the title, and the NFL opens training camp. All this and more on this episode of The Coastal Launch Sports Talk!

Episode 25: All Alone in the SEC and MLB Trade Deadline Check-In

In the South, it doesn't feel anything close to like fall outside...but on the football calendar, fall lingers just around the corner! As today marks only 40 days to the kickoff of the college football season, the boys reunite to deliver their first conference preview. Join us for a look into the new-look PAC-12 who is bringing us a new look at scheduling as well. The PAC-12 isn't what it used to be but it certainly deserves more respect than what its getting.

Also, we sit only two weeks out to the trade deadline and half the league still needs to figure out if they are buying or selling. We take a look at the trends surrounding 10 bubble teams and let you know if they should buy or sell. All that and more on this episode of The Coastal Launch Sports Talk!

Episode 24: PAC-12 Preview and Bubblicious MLB Trade Deadline Teams

Solo Pod #2. This time Cody comes to you solo while Justin enjoys a much deserved vacation. So with Cody in charge, this is a baseball heavy pod. All Star Week is upon us and while the HR Derby's new format and Tuesday's All Star Game are getting primetime notice, is the MLB maximizing how great the full slate of the weekend can be?  But don't spend too long soaking up the All Star break because the Trade Deadline will be here before you know it and many of the assumed sellers are making a push to change that narrative!

Also, the World Cup is down to its final four teams and chalk has reigned supreme, the NHL has a new highest paid player, and the NBA offseason is as electric as it gets. All this and more on this episode of The Coastal Launch Sports Talk!

Episode 23: MLB All Star Week(End) and Trade Deadline

The boys are back with a not-so-regularly-scheduled pod. Don't mind the mess,  we are bringing you the tried and true Coastal Launch quality (minus a slight technical difficulty) with our top 10 moments that shaped our fandom. Not necessarily the 10 biggest sports moments in our lifetime, but the 10 that helped shape how we view and root for sports. Find out why we root for the underdog, how Justin became a Lightning fan, and how Cody copes with being one of the few who left the A&M LSU 7OT game early.

Also, US Soccer brought a nation together and then ripped their hearts out in oh so familiar fashion, Justin Verlander is set to retire at season's end, and Shohei Ohtani joined the 300 home run club. All that and more on this episode of The Coastal Launch Sports Talk.

Episode 22: Top 10 Sports Moments that Shaped our Fandom

College football sits only two months away and yet the long offseason continues as the sports calendar consists of only baseball and World Cup Soccer. Two experiences we are mightily enjoying but that can't necessarily fill up 90 minutes on there own...so the boys embark on the most important list of all...the list of MLB ballpark foods. Only it isn't really a list, its just a rehashing of why we would certainly try almost anything these ballparks have to offer.

Also, the round of 32 has already brought upsets in the World Cup as the US awaits a date with Bosnia on Wednesday, Brendan Sorsby refuses to go away, the NHL draft was electric, and hockey may come to Houston after all!!! All this and more on the 21st installment of The Coastal Launch Sports Talk!
