Jan E Man Review

D54 is back following our favourite policeman, Joju George, in the survival thriller Nayattu (2021). This story packs in everything - an edge-of-your seat manhunt, class dynamics that erupt violently, and a political machine that is insurmountable - all leading to an inevitable and tragic conclusion. Joju George is terrific as the world weary police officer who sees the world turning against him, and Kunchacko Boban and Nimisha Sajayan deliver deeply affecting performances that leave you shattered. This film is not for the faint of heart, but its realism, its performances, and the mesmerising cinematography and score, make it a must watch.

Join us as we review the 2023 Malayalam comedy-horror hit Romancham. Heavy on the comedy and light on the horror, this film is an absolute joy. We discuss Mammootty’s amazing dual performance as James and Sundaram, his prolific output at age 71, and his unparalleled range. We try to solve the unsolvable mystery at the heart of this film, while admiring the gorgeous cinematography and how masterfully director Lijo Jose Pellissery brings to life the world and inhabitants of a rural village in Tamil Nadu.
