Welcome to the Bad Writers podcast with Mari Dietz and Rae Ryan. We’re two writers talking about the ups and downs of self-publishing. Amidst the deluge of voices telling us what we should do to find success, we all fall short because the bar is too dang high. Feeling like a failure is the inevitable and unfortunate side effect.

In this first episode, we talk about our journey through traditional publishing to end up at self-publishing, our self-publishing origin story, if you will.

Bad Writers

Join Mari Dietz and Rae Ryan on their hilariously honest journey through the world of self-publishing. In "Bad Writers," these two writers pull back the curtain on the gritty reality of writing and publishing, exposing the often-unrealistic expectations of the industry.

Each episode, Mari and Rae share their latest missteps, rejected manuscripts, and creative crises, all while navigating the pressure to achieve success. With a healthy dose of self-deprecating humor, they discuss:

 * The ups and downs of their writing processes
 * The challenges of self-publishing in a crowded market
 * Their failed attempts to meet industry standards
 * Guest interviews with fellow "bad writers" and industry professionals

Whether you're a struggling writer, a curious reader, or just someone who enjoys a good laugh at the expense of artistic angst, "Bad Writers" offers a refreshing and relatable take on the pursuit of literary dreams.

Remember, in a world obsessed with bestsellers, sometimes it's okay to be bad.
