As much as I appreciated Jason coming on the show for an interview, my apologies to you for not hearing John Hinckley Jr's perspectives on his life, up to, including, and after March of 1981, after the attempted Reagan assassination.. Hopefully ,we will hear from him in the future to revisit his book. I assure you, this is certainly a unique memoir; not one that is seeking sympathy, but one that details, in brutal honesty, a dark path with mental illness. As Jason says in the interview, there is/was a lot more to John than what he's infamously known for. Thanks for coming on the show, Jason!

Author Craig McGuire ("Empire City Under Siege") on the FBI vs. the Mafia!

During the course of our interview, Dr. Clark made a statement that was so powerful in its simplicity, when it comes to cold cases: "Talk about it." Those three words are an inspiring reminder that there could be information that leads to these cold cases being solved. Her book covers the lives of numerous young women whose lives came to a sudden end, with no clear explanation. One can only hope that there will be someone who talk about these cases to shed new light onto their investigations. Her book gives these victims the dignity and humanity that they deserve, while presenting what is known about their cases. Cold Cases! With Dr. Alyce Clark (Author,"The Forgotten Girls")!

Rebels, I'm not quite sure why I kept on saying "spotlight on songwriting" and not "spotlight on songwriters", given how long I've been listening to this podcast, and have heard essentially all of their episodes. I'm blaming it on small print. Or the Mandela Effect (Bobby Mandela kept throwing things at me during the interview). Or locusts. It was locusts! Oh,sorry, now I'm quoting "The Blues Brothers" movie. Meet Entrepreneur Oksana Kolesnikova!

So, Arthur Frischman, aka The Long Island Sign Guy, has become quite the sensation with his historical trivia tidbit videos about Long Island. He had a bunch of great stories to tell in addition to the history stuff. I guess I could do video shorts about Mount Podcastia, but then they'd find me and I would have to pay the fine on that overdue library book. (I swear, "1Fish 2 Fish, Red Fish Blue Fish" was strictly for research purposes...) If you've never gone, Long Island (and really, the rest of New York State) has a lot to offer and to see (NY was one of the original 13 colonies in the US, and yet I'm still paying taxes on tea!), with a fascinating history. And I'm proud to say I can properly pronounce Hauppauge, Quogue, and Ronkonkoma (check out the theme to "Fake People Real Trivia" for proof!). I just have issues with that "JIF" or "GIF" thing. I can admit that in my vast inventory of episodes, maybe a handful could be considered truly inspiring. (Well unless, you want to be inspired to be a better podcaster than me, then, it's a low bar. But I digress...) This interview falls into that category of the select few. Imagine yourself in Mark's place, covering a concert which devolves into a horrific mass shooting. Would you have it in you to write a book about it, much less, a book about the power of community and healing? Mark was fortunate to have lived through this uninjured, but he spent his time afterward interviewing people whose lives were forever changed.
