Hi Zen Creator! In this video, I will show you how to download your Zencastr postproduction files.

Produce is a paid feature that enhances and mixes together the separate audio (and video) files for you and your guests into a combined file. Produce can be used for any recording done on Zencastr for up to 6 participants at a time. Audio and video mixing is included for users on all plans [https://zencastr.com/pricing], with additional advanced features available to users on paid plans.

In this video, my account is on a paid plan and my recording was done in the Record Audio and Video mode.

On your Dashboard, from the Rooms tab, hover over the room you wish to post-produce and click the Produce button.

On the Produce page, make sure the correct recording name and number is selected on the right, under Recordings.

If you would like to use the default postproduction settings, you can skip to the next step. If you would like to view and adjust settings, click the Edit button. For this video, I’m going to use the default postproduction settings.

To run the postproduction and download it to your computer, click Produce & Download. You then will be asked to select an aspect ratio for the final video mix, either 16:9, 9:16, or square. Please note, once you select an aspect ratio, the postproduction will run.

Once the postproduction is running, you can stay on the page but you do not have to. The postproduction will process in the background and you will receive an email when it is complete and the files are available to download.

When it completes, you have three options for downloading the files.

If you stayed on the Produce page, the postproduction will download as a zip file. Unzip the file and open the folder. In it, you will have an audio mix and a video mix. Users on paid plans will also have a postproduction transcript.

If you left the Produce page, open the email you receive when the postproduction completes. Click the Download button in the email. Login to your account and you will be taken to your recording page. The Podcast Mixes track contains the postproduction files. Click Download Audio Podcast to download the audio file and/or click download Download Video Podcast to download the video file. The files will download separately.

Alternatively, if you left the Produce page and want the zip file, on your Dashboard, from the Rooms tab, hover over the room you post-produced and click the Produce button. On the Produce page, make sure the correct recording name and number is selected on the right, under Recordings. Then, in the upper right, click Postprodcutions. Click the 3-dot menu to the right of the postproduction name and select Download. The postproduction will download as a zip file. Unzip the file and open the folder. In it, you will have an audio mix and a video mix. Users on paid plans will also have a postproduction transcript.

Hi Zen Creator! In this video, I will show you how to buy Zencastr postproduction credits.

Produce is a paid feature that enhances and mixes together the separate audio and video files for you and your guests into a combined file. Produce pricing is a credits system in which a 1-hour credit equals 1 hour of overall recording time run through Produce.

On your Dashboard, from the Rooms tab, hover over a room that has a recording and click the Produce button.

On the Produce page, on the bottom right, Credit Costs displays the number of credits available on your account. Click the down arrow to expand this section.

Next to Credits, click Add.

Select the number of credits you would like to buy. Then click Purchase.

If you already have a credit card on your account, the card will be charged when you click Purchase, the credits will be added to your account, and a receipt will be emailed to the email address on the account.If you do not have a credit card on your account, you will receive a message asking you to add one. The card can be added from your dashboard by clicking on your avatar, then Payment, and then payment source.

How to buy postproduction credits

Hi Zen Creator! In this video, I will show you how to use the Long Pause smart filter in your Zencastr postproductions.

The Long Pause filter is a Produce feature available to users on paid plans [https://zencastr.com/pricing]. It searches your and your guests’ combined audio for non-speaking pauses equal to or greater than a length that you define and shortens those pauses to a length that you specify.

On your Dashboard, from the Rooms tab, hover over the room you wish to post-produce and click the Produce button.

On the Produce page, make sure the correct recording name and number is selected, under Recordings.

Click the Edit button to adjust your post-production settings.

Next to Long Pauses select Cut. Then click Advanced.

In the Long Pauses Threshold field, enter the minimum pause length in seconds that the filter should search for.

In the Shorten to field, enter the number of seconds that the long pause should be shortened to.

In this example with the Long Pauses Threshold at 2 seconds and the Shorten To at 1 second, the filter will search for pauses equal to or greater than 2 seconds and then cut each of those to 1 second. Any pause less than 2 seconds will not be cut.

If you would like to make additional adjustments to your postproduction, you can select and deselect participants here or click the Audio icon or Video icon to change those settings.

Once you have made your selections, click the check icon in the top right corner of the editor to finalize your settings.

How to use Long Pauses smart filter

Hi Zen Creator! In this video, I will show you how to get separate WAV files in your Zencastr postproductions.

Separate WAVs is a Produce feature available to users on paid plans [https://zencastr.com/pricing]. It gives you WAV files with audio enhancements applied for each participant, in addition to the combined audio (and video) mixes.

On your Dashboard, from the Rooms tab, hover over the room you wish to post-produce and click the Produce button.

On the Produce page, make sure the correct recording name and number is selected, under Recordings.

Click the Edit button to adjust your post-production settings. Then click the Audio icon.

Click Advanced audio settings to display all the audio filters. Next to Tracks, select Separate.

If you would like to make additional adjustments, you can disable or enable other audio filters or click the Edit icon or Video icon to change those settings.

Once you have made your selections, click the check icon in the top right corner of the editor to finalize your settings.

To run the postproduction and download it to your computer, click Produce & Download. You then will be asked to select an aspect ratio for the final video mix, either 16:9, 9:16, or square. Please note, once you select an aspect ratio, the postproduction will run.

How to get separate WAVs for postproductions

Hi Zen Creator! In this video, I will show you how to change the video layouts for your Zencastr postproductions.

On your Dashboard, from the Rooms tab, hover over the room you wish to post-produce and click the Produce button.

On the Produce page, make sure the correct recording name and number is selected, under Recordings.

Up to 6 videos can be combined in Produce. Click the Edit button to adjust your post-production settings.

The Zen layout is the default and can be applied for 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 participants. It auto-detects who is speaking in a given scene and puts that person’s video full-screen while putting the other non-speaking people in smaller overlays.Then click the Video icon. There are several layout options depending on the number of participants whose videos are included in the postproduction.

The Active Speaker layout can be applied for 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 participants. It also auto-detects who is speaking in a given scene and puts that person’s video full-screen. But it does not have overlays of the other people.

The Vertical layout can be applied for 2 participants. It equally sizes each person’s video and arranges them in a vertical, portrait orientation.

The Horizontal layout can be applied for 2 participants. It equally sizes each person’s video and arranges them in a horizontal, landscape orientation.

The Side Grid 2 Focused layout can be applied for 5 or 6 participants. It arranges the videos asymmetrically so two people’s videos are larger and the rest are smaller and equally sized.The Side Grid layout can be applied for 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 participants. It arranges the videos asymmetrically so one person’s video is larger and the rest are smaller and equally sized.

The Symmetry layout can be applied for 4 or 6 participants. It arranges the videos symmetrically with all the videos equally sized.

The Custom layout can be applied for 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 participants. If you do not want to use the recorded videos, you can upload a photo to be the video image instead.

To run the postproduction and download it to your computer, click Produce & Download. You then will be asked to select an aspect ratio for the final video, either 16:9, 9:16, or square. Please note, once you select an aspect ratio, the video postproduction will run.Once you have selected your desired layout, click the check icon in the top right corner of the editor to finalize your settings.

Alternatively, if you are hosting with Zencastr, click Produce & Publish to publish your postproduction as an episode of your video podcast.

There are two ways you can access the Produce page:

 1. On your Dashboard, from the Rooms tab, hover over the room you wish to post-produce and click the Produce button.

Users on paid plans also have a Smart Filters section where they can enable or disable two smart filters. For recordings in English, the Filler Words filter removes common filler words such as ums and ahs. For recordings in all languages, the Long Pauses filter cuts instances of non-speaking pauses in your audio.

When you have made your selections on the Edit tab, click the Audio icon.

On the Audio tab, you can use the default audio enhancements. Or click Advanced Audio Settings to enable or disable specific enhancements. Users on paid plans have an additional Tracks option where they can select if they’d like an audio mix or separate, enhanced WAV files for each participant. They also have the Audio Format option to select the file type for the final file, either MP3 or WAV.

When you have made your selections on the Audio tab, click the Video icon.

On the Video tab, under Video select a layout you like. Depending on the selected layout, under Participants, you can change the position of the participants and their size in the final video. Under Watermark, you can change the position of the Zencastr watermark. Users on paid plans can change the size and transparency of the Zencastr watermark or remove it completely. They also can add their own watermark or logo.

Once you have made all your selections, click the check icon in the top right corner of the editor to finalize your settings.

To run the postproduction and download it to your computer, click Produce & Download. You then will be asked to select an aspect ratio for the final video mix, either 16:9, 9:16, or square. Please note, once you select an aspect ratio, the postproduction will run.

Once the postproduction is running, you can stay on the page or close it. You will receive an email when it is complete and the files are available to download.

How to use Produce for an audio recording

We heard you! You requested for the watermark to be removed. Now, you should be able to do so on any paid plan [https://zencastr.com/pricing]. 

From the Rooms tab, hover over the room you wish to post-produce and click Produce.

Click the EDIT button

Click the video icon to edit the video side of your postproduction

Go to the watermark section

Select “hide”

Click the check button on the upper right side of your screen to finalize when you’re all good.

How to remove the Zencastr watermark on my post-produced videos

Hi Zen Creator! In this video, I’m going to show you how you can combine the individual files into one using Zencastr’s Produce functionality.

By default, when you record on Zencastr, you get separate files for each participant. Having separate tracks is important for editing purposes. To combine your files:

Rejoin the Room you wish to access and combine the individual files.

Click “Create your Podcast.” You should then be taken to the “produce episode” page.

Click edit

Check or uncheck the names of the participants to pick the files you like to combine.

Click the check icon on the upper right side of the screen to finalize

Click produce and download if you want to download the combined files.

Click produce and publish; if you are hosting in Zencastr, to publish your combined files as an episode.
